Role Overview:

- We are seeking an AVP for our Bank Audit team to conduct thorough audits of our retail branch operations, retail liability services, retail asset management, and credit processing functions.

- This role is crucial in ensuring that our operations are accurate, compliant, and efficient.

- The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in bank auditing or related banking operations and possess a deep understanding of audit practices and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Audit Strategy and Execution:

- Develop and execute detailed audit plans for various aspects of our banking operations, including retail branches, liability services, asset management, and credit processing.

- Create and apply audit programs that incorporate risk assessments and methodologies to ensure a comprehensive review of operational processes.

- Perform audits in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in all audit activities.

Operational Auditing:

- Evaluate the efficiency and compliance of retail branch banking operations, including adherence to internal controls and procedural accuracy.

- Review retail liability operations, focusing on current and savings accounts to ensure proper risk management and regulatory compliance.

- Assess retail asset management, such as loan processes, to ensure alignment with internal controls and risk management practices.

- Audit credit processing functions to verify compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.

Reporting and Documentation:

- Generate detailed audit reports that outline findings, highlight risks, and provide actionable recommendations.

- Deliver clear recommendations to management aimed at improving operational efficiency and ensuring compliance.

- Maintain thorough documentation of audit procedures, findings, and supporting evidence to substantiate audit conclusions.

Compliance and Risk Management:

- Ensure audit activities comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

- Identify risks and compliance issues, offering solutions to mitigate potential problems.

- Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry best practices, incorporating these into audit processes.

Communication with Stakeholders:

- Present audit findings and recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

- Collaborate with branch and department heads to address audit issues and oversee the implementation of corrective measures.

- Provide guidance and training to audit team members and other staff as needed.

Enhancing Audit Practices:

- Contribute to the improvement of audit methodologies and practices.

- Assist in reviewing and refining internal controls and operational processes.

- Identify opportunities for operational improvements to enhance the overall effectiveness of the audit function.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Educational Background:


- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Professional certifications like Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Accountant (CA) are highly desirable.

Experience:


- At least 8 to 10 years of experience in bank auditing or related banking operations.

- Demonstrated experience in auditing retail banking operations, liability services, asset management, or credit processing is required.

Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of audit principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate complex processes and recommend improvements.

- Proficiency with audit software and a solid understanding of banking operations and internal controls.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings and recommendations effectively.

- Ability to manage multiple audit assignments and work independently.
