About our Client - Our client is a leading Investment Bank with strong presence across America, Asia Pacific and the emerging markets. As part of their Asset Services business in their investment banking operations team - they seek an exceptional leader who's a proven expert in Corporate Actions to lead and grow a team in Mumbai
Job Description - As an AVP - Asset Services/Corporate Actions, you will Report into the VP and manage a team size of about 30-40 members.
- You will be responsible for transitioning of any new process within Asset Services area from formulating strategy, hiring people, working in partnership with the various global locations
- Will also be responsible for other activities like BCM, Audits, Transformation, Operational Risk & Control and people related initiatives.
- Will ensure all training requirements are in place and will play as SPOC to accomplish the smooth transitioning.
- Other responsibilities include cross -training, subject matter expertise creation, succession planning, preparation of management reports and departmental initiatives, and interfacing with the different departments and the various APAC Asset Servicing locations to ensure timely and accurate processing of all activities on a daily basis within the given timelines.
- The Global Asset Services team:
- Provides front to back processing operations, covering all 'Voluntary and Mandatory' events, across both Equity and Fixed Income products.
- Supports clients in several markets within Global Market Equities, Prime Finance, Emerging Markets, Fixed Income & Domestic Custody services.
The Successful Candidate - You will have 9 to 10 years experience in investment banking operations/ custody operations/ securities operations with at least 6 years of experience in Corporate Actions. You will have a good understanding of Global Equity and Fixed Income markets, across Voluntary and Mandatory Events.You come with strong domain knowledge of corporate actions with an understanding of the criticality of this role given the nature of responsibility and implications of the decisions that are made in this capacity. Additionally, you possess strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills. You have the ability to identify and develop strong working relationships with internal as well as external client' groups.You have the proven ability to function effectively in a multi cultural environment.You seek opportunities to improve service process, minimize operational risk and reduce costs and are comfortable dealing with multiple stakeholders and complex situations.Very strong English written & verbal skills required with an ability to converse clearly with internal and external staff via telephone and written communication. Excellent people management skills, an eye for detail.
