PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Manages labor relations program of organization: Analyzes collective bargaining agreement to develop interpretation of intent, spirit, and terms of contract
2) Advises management and union officials in development, application, and interpretation of labor relations policies and practices, according to policy formulated
3) Arranges and schedules meetings between grieving workers, supervisory and managerial personnel, and business representatives & union members to investigate and resolve grievances.
4) Prepares statistical reports, using records of actions taken concerning grievances, arbitration and mediation cases, and related labor relations activities, to identify problem areas.
5) Monitors implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, and working conditions, to ensure compliance with terms of labor contract.
6) Furnishes information, such as reference documents and statistical data concerning labor legislation, labor market conditions, prevailing union and management practices, wage and salary surveys, and employee benefits programs, for use in review of current contract provisions and proposed changes.
7) May represent management in labor contract negotiations.
8) May supervise employees and be known as Labor Relations Supervisor.
9) Drive and oversee all employee relations initiatives within the organisation.
10) Lead on the employee relations aspects of proposed changes to the business structure
11) Contribute to the development of the Human Resource function by developing an ER strategy that is aligned with business needs
12) Advise and support all parts of the business on employee relations matters to ensure their effective management. Issues include: disciplinaries, grievances and performance issues.
13) Keep up to date with current ER legislation and ensure this is updated in the companys Human Resource policies.
14) Manage the employee relations team effectively to ensure objectives are met
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in multinational / reputed local companies. Experience of working in Plant is must.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Human Resources specially in the field of Industrial relations, employee relations. Should have knowledge of Labour Laws.
- Leadership abilities: People and goal oriented, able to work under pressure and independently, dynamic and team player. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- MBA / MSW with major in HR from reputed university
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, internally and externally, with both business and technical contacts at all levels.
- Must be fluent in English and Kannada / Hindi languages
- PC Literacy and working knowledge of MS Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
