Program Manager, Avanti Fellows

Position Summary:

We're expanding our Test Prep program to Gujrat and working with partners in the state to support the design and implementation of a state-wise Test Prep program for supporting Govt. School students with academic guidance for competitive exams. Avanti's resource person in this role will work closely with our partner organization and with the state government to equip teachers and students with the necessary tools for setting up and running the appropriate program for students in model schools.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to

The role is embedded in the Model Schools PMU and shall be responsible for the design and implementation of the program. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

- Ideate on Curriculum Design and setup the Creation Work Plan by estimating effort, time, resources, rate of output and other relevant factors

- Setup, Train, Coordinate & Monitor the Curriculum Creation Process with internal (Avanti) and external (Govt.) resources

- Coordinate among stakeholders to set up and implement the academic plan for the schools in the program's purview

- Contribute in design and conduction of an effective training program for the teachers for Curriculum Creation and delivery of the academic program

- Track program metrics pertaining to program adoption, syllabus coverage, test conduction, student performance, student feedback and other related areas

- Conduct periodic internal and external reviews on program health and discuss recommendations for day-to-day academic activities

- Prepare periodic Program Review reports and share with all stakeholders

- Document the design and implementation process through SOPs to set up a Knowledge Repository for replicating the above across future programs

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree

Experience:

- At least 2 years of experience in the Education Industry in relevant roles

- Experience in teaching and pedagogy design

Language: Candidates must be fluent in Gujarati to ensure smooth communication with all stakeholders involved in the project

Salary Details: Commensurate as per your skills and experience

Avanti Fellows is a 14 year-old not-for-profit organization founded by IIT Bombay Alum, Akshay Saxena. Avanti's mission is to help students lift themselves & their families out of poverty in a single generation through access to quality careers in STEM. Avanti works with large government school systems (Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti) to create system-wide test-preparation programs for national entrance exams for engineering, medical and other technical education in STEM.

Avanti's programs serve over 30,000 high-school students (Grades 9-12), across 20 states and 6 union territories. More than 50% of Avanti's students are girls. Once enrolled, students receive rigorous academic tutoring for 12-20 hours per week in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. In addition to academic tutoring, our programs focus on career guidance and building critical life skills like agency and self-efficacy. We run additional programming for Girl students that focuses on overcoming gender-stereotypes and increasing participation in STEM careers (specially technical courses).
