As the Ministry of Power has announced Green Hydrogen/Green Ammonia Policy and the objective of this mission is to help the government to meet its climate goals and make India a Green Hydrogen Hub. Our project will contribute & help in meeting the target of producing 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030 and associated development of renewable energy capacity.

Therefore, Avaada has made a determined strategy to capitalize on the emerging opportunities under the National Hydrogen Mission.

Hydrogen and Ammonia are envisaged to be the future fuels to replace fossil fuels. Production of these fuels by using power from renewable energy, termed as green hydrogen and green ammonia, is one of the major requirements towards environmentally sustainable energy security of the nation. Government of India is taking various measures to facilitate the transition from fossil fuel / fossil fuel-based feed stocks to green hydrogen / green ammonia.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Procurement Strategy Development:

- Develop and execute procurement strategies for civil works to support large-scale renewable energy projects.

- Establish long-term procurement goals in alignment with the company's objectives, ensuring the availability of civil engineering resources and materials.

- Lead the procurement function with a focus on optimizing the procurement process, improving efficiency, and maximizing cost-effectiveness.

Contract Negotiation and Management:

- Oversee the negotiation of high-value contracts with contractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring favourable terms, cost savings, and risk mitigation.

- Approve the drafting, review, and finalization of procurement contracts for civil works, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.

- Manage and mitigate risks associated with civil works procurement, including delays, cost overruns, and quality issues.

Team Leadership and Development:

- Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team, setting performance objectives, providing coaching, and ensuring continuous development.

- Ensure that team members are aligned with the overall procurement strategy and provide guidance on complex procurement challenges.

Budget and Financial Management:

- Ensure that all civil works procurement activities remain within project budgets while meeting project specifications and quality standards.

- Monitor and control procurement costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

- Report to senior management on procurement performance, including cost savings, delivery timelines, and supplier performance.

Supplier and Vendor Management:

- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key suppliers and contractors, ensuring a stable supply chain for civil materials and services.

- Manage supplier performance through regular reviews, performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with contracts and standards.

- Address any supplier-related issues, disputes, or delays in a timely manner, ensuring the project's continuity.

Project Coordination and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure procurement activities are aligned with project timelines and requirements.

- Provide leadership in integrating procurement strategies with project milestones to ensure seamless execution of renewable energy projects.

- Oversee the procurement of civil works and materials to avoid project delays and ensure smooth logistics to project sites.

Reporting and Analysis:

- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on procurement performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), cost savings, and supplier performance.

- Analyze procurement data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements, supplier diversification, and cost optimization.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education:


- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

- Master's degree or MBA is a plus.

Experience:

- Minimum of 18 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing civil works procurement for large-scale construction or renewable energy projects.

- In-depth experience in the procurement of civil materials, equipment, and services, ideally in renewable energy sectors (solar, wind, hydro, etc.).

- Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar procurement budgets and large, complex contracts.

Skills:

- Strong leadership and strategic thinking capabilities.

- Expert negotiation skills and experience managing high-value contracts.

- Extensive knowledge of civil works, construction methods, renewable energy technologies, and project management.

- Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and cost control.

- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

- Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and sustainability issues in the renewable energy sector.
