How you'll spend your time:
1. Reviewing financial statements of commercial and financial service clients for compliance with professional and Firm standards, including engagement team interaction
2. Reviewing working papers and complex accounting transactions for completeness and accuracy
3. Creating and implementing specific proactive Firm-wide policies and concepts that continuously improve the quality of our Audit and Accounting practice
4. Assisting in the planning and execution of various projects to provide support in connection with our internal inspections and targeted binder inspections
5. Assisting with other specific technical projects as requested, such as independence matters, research projects, Quality Control Document revisions, training initiatives, etc.
6. Demonstrating competency of technical skills, work quality, and the application of professional and Firm standards
7. Promoting and monitoring compliance with regulations and ethical standards set forth by the Firm and other governing bodies
8. Developing professionally through reading, attending trainings/seminars/CPE, and accepting challenging projects
9. Understanding general business trends and how they may relate to client needs/issues
10. Assisting in project driven functions performed around data analysis and reporting to Management
11. Assisting and leading in the binder review and engagement cleanup process
To qualify for the role you must have:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2. CPA Licensure (or international equivalent)
3. Excellent current technical GAAP and GAAS knowledge; possession of current CPE reflecting upto-date technical knowledge.
4. Experience with commercial entities, financial services entities and employee benefit plan audits
5. Ability to research complex accounting and auditing issues, including GAAP, GAAS, SSARS
(compilation and review), SEC and PCAOB regulations.
6. Knowledge of independence standards and quality control standards of the AICPA
7. Experience with SEC and PCAOB filings
8. Willingness to go above and beyond
9. Willingness to assist in development of staff and other recruiting initiatives
10. Demonstrate leadership abilities
