About the job:
Job Summary:
- The Head of the Procurement supervises all procurement operations within the RPO, encompassing strategic procurement, operational purchasing, expediting, and supplier quality assurance.
- This role involves leading all regional functions, including Category Managers, Supplier Development Engineers, Sourcing Managers, Buyers, and Quality Inspectors.
- They ensure the accurate, budget-conscious, and timely completion of all orders.
- Moreover, he is accountable for providing the required capacity and capabilities for all regional functions.
- They also manage the RPO costs proficiently within the established framework
Specific Skills & Knowledge:
- Experience in managing procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiating, contracting, purchasing, and supplier relationship management.
- Understanding of the entire supply chain process and experience in optimizing supply chain operations.
- Experience in developing and implementing procurement and supply chain strategies that align with the organization's objectives.
- Experience in managing relationships with vendors, including negotiating contracts, managing performance, and resolving disputes.
- Experience in leading and managing a team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ability to analyze financial data to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Experience in managing projects, including planning, executing, and monitoring procurement-related projects.
- Familiarity with the specific industry the organization operates in, and knowledge of relevant suppliers and products
- Experience with procurement software and other relevant technologies, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, e-procurement platforms, and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to procurement.
Professional Education Experience:
- 18-22 years of experience in a similar role in the Heavy Power sector/Hydro power/ Heavy Engineering/ relevant companies.
- Minimum 8-10 years of leadership experience in managing teams.
- Experience in supply chain management, operative sourcing, or category management in a global environment.
- Certificate in Project Management (Desirable)
- Good knowledge of Contract Management
- Expertise in commercial matters
