Job Description for National Sales Head

Experience :
- 15 or more years of experience in sales function with FMCG industries along with having experience from any Lighting, Electrical products and consumer goods industries. Should be in the capacity of handling National level sales and managed multiple regions.
Job Purpose :
- To provide effective leadership, to drive the Sales function in the organisation through appropriate sales strategies and plans to ensure achievement of the business results or objectives of the organisation.
Responsibilities :
- To formulate the overall sales strategy and plan for the business lines for existing and new categories in accordance with the overall business plan, responsible for sales plans and sales activities and ensure the periodic targets are achieved through efficient and effective execution.
- To handle overall sales and distribution of products currently available and strategize/initiate activities for new products launches by leading the regional sales teams.
- Responsible for external stakeholders like stockiest, retailers, agencies, wholesalers etc. for effective handholding and customer satisfaction of those channels.
- To head the entire sales force of the organisation & with overall responsibility for strategic sales planning & designing distribution and coverage strategy for the products in both the existing and new lines so as to ensure achievement of the organizational bottom & top line targets.
- The overall Sales strategy for the country/regions is developed by this position taking various market and competition inputs.
- To be responsible for ensuring that there is a standardization of various sales processes and systems across the locations.
- The focus of the job is in building a strong sales team and keeping them trained and motivated to achieve the sales objectives.
- To ensure that performance of various parties involved in the sales process is high so that the desired growth rate can be achieved.
- To handle Internal communication with various stakeholders also ensures free flow of information.
- Interactions with the marketing function for sales promotion and marketing support, launching new products; to logistics to ensure product availability; to finance for the availability of funds, to HR for manpower availability and training are also carried out and is also a part of the senior Management team, responsible for various Organizational initiatives
- To work along with the marketing in identifying new line, business, products, carryout competitive research or collecting/analysing market data or track competition and identify strategic/business opportunities for the organisation.
- To develop the entire sales team; to build and maintain the sales force up to its potential and beyond through a variety of measures. These include effective sales training, sales system implementation, mentoring and coaching.
- To manage various internal and external customers related issues so as to ensure that the business lines are positively impacted.
