Global Markets AeJ Equities Business Management, Associate/Vice President
Overview:
- This particular role is within the Business Management team (GM CAOs). The Business Managers play a strategic role in delivering the Global Markets business agenda. They work extensively with Front Office Business Heads to drive their strategy, execute the business plans and run the floor.
- They are the face of business for the various Corporate Functions and are responsible for implementing the business policies.
Position Specifications:Corporate Title : Associate/Vice President
Experience : 6 - 10 years of relevant experience
Qualification : MBA from Tier 1 B-school, CA, Masters/ Bachelor's degree in business / finance / economics or similar field from a top tier institute/ university
Role & Responsibilities:- We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our fast-paced Global Markets AEJ Equities Business Management team, based in Powai, Mumbai, which will collaborate closely with the HK-based Global Markets Business Management team.
- The individual will partner with Business Heads and Senior Management across Trading, Sales, Structuring and Research to drive key business initiatives with a focus on platform buildout, client franchise growth, long term business expansion, and overall business positioning
- The individual will play a key role in liaising with Desk Heads and traders in formulating and executing product strategy, platform enhancement, business analysis and new product roll outs for the AEJ Equities Trading business
- The individual will be expected to independently lead business analysis, project implementation and communication with senior stakeholders with minimum to no supervision from regional stakeholders
- The individual will assume day-to-day responsibilities which will contribute towards business management, performance monitoring, managing infrastructure/ processes which support AEJ EQ Trading business
- The role will provide deep and wide exposure to Equities business for Institutional clients The role would require working with Global Markets Front office functions - Trading, Sales, Structuring, and Research and with all the GM Corporate functions - Compliance, Treasury, Legal, Finance, Middle Office, IT and Product Control based in HK / Singapore.
- The role will require to travel to Hong Kong for short periods for working with regional COOs to support key strategic initiatives
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Business Analysis, Management Presentations:
- Independently drive strategic initiatives with Product/Sales Desk Heads using data- backed actionable insights focusing on dimensions like revenue trends, product & segment penetration, hit-miss analysis, client onboarding analysis etc.
- Strategic assessment of outperforming/underperforming businesses using client analytics and market/business dynamics to suggest recommendations for business heads
- Prepare management presentations to summarize revenue, expenses, resource consumption and other management reporting metrics
- Prepare presentations for senior management board meetings, investor day, off- sites, town Halls
- Participate in annual budgeting exercise for the Regional and Global business by performing historical revenue analysis and bottom up revenue forecasting
- Prepare periodic business summaries covering financial metrics as well as business commentary for Senior Management
Project Management for Platform and New Product Buildout:
- Spearhead end to end implementation of platform buildout projects for the AEJ EQ business
- Work with Desk Heads, Treasury and Finance to strategize and implement projects for optimizing funding and financial resources management for the business
- Independently project manage new product rollout governance process in partnership with traders, corporate functions and new business group
- Quick assessment and turnaround of product mandate queries from trading, sales and structuring desks
Stakeholder Management:
- Proactive in working with Regional COOs and Business Heads
- Crisp and concise communication with all stakeholders
- Strong sense of ownership and dedication towards timely deliverables
- Owning and Driving key business initiatives to achieve GM business objectives
- Setup appropriate infra and support systems to monitor progress
- Coordinate with various corporate functions to ensure seamless execution
- Partnering with Technology, Operations, Risk, Finance, other Corporate functions
- Own day to day issues pertaining to various corporate functions and ensure closure
Control and Conduct:
- Owning Audit points, regulatory responses, book profile management and business continuity management (BCM) plan for the unit
- Expense approval, tracking and expense management
Mind Set:- Prior experience of driving initiatives in Global Markets space and experience of working on cross-functional projects
- Strong Knowledge of Capital Market products and asset classes specially Equity Products
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills; ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders at senior levels
- Strong Analytical and Problem solving skills
- Good project management skills - planning, coordination/ execution, stakeholder mgmt
- Ability to prioritize high volumes of deliverables across multiple disciplines working under pressure
