Associate - Underwriting

THE ROLE :

- You will be responsible for processing loan applications based on established eligibility and underwriting guidelines.

- Your high attention to detail and commitment to our mission will help make sure each applicant gets full and proper consideration through our loan application process. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Collaborating with both the customer success and credit teams to ensure applications are completed and decisioned in a timely manner

- Validating borrower provided and 3rd party information to ensure each application is error-free and complete

- Understanding client's product line, including loan terminology and calculations

- Ability to identify and make recommendations for approval policy exceptions

- Partnering with clients global tech, credit, and operations teams to troubleshoot and optimize application and credit processes through automation

- Analyzing borrower data and trends while bringing a continuous improvement mindset to deliver a better student borrower experience and scale our operations

THE QUALIFICATIONS :

- Bachelors/Master's degree, or higher, in Business Administration, Finance or related field preferred

- 2-3 years of loan processing experience in a fast-paced environment

- Understanding of banking, lending, financial services or personal finance with the ability to learn and adapt quickly

- Customer service orientation with an innate sense of service and empathy for others

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with comfort interacting with global colleagues and students via phone, email, and other collaboration tools

- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

- Passionate about analytics and tech-savvy

- Foreign language is a plus
