Job Description:


Job Title: Legal and Compliance Associate/Sr. Associate.


Location: Ahmedabad.


Nature of work: Full-time.


Experience required: 2-5 years.


Role and Responsibilities:


- The Associate Legal and Policy Advocacy, reporting to the Legal and Compliance Coordinator & Policy Advocacy Coordinator, will provide valuable assistance and support in legal and policy-related matters.


- The focus is on learning and contributing to the effective functioning of the legal and policy advocacy units.


Legal Compliance Support:


Statutory Compliance:


- Maintain a comprehensive statutory compliance checklist for all social enterprises, ensuring adherence to the regulatory framework.


- Keep registers for all enterprises in compliance with the Companies Act, 2013.


Research and Advisory:


- Conduct reading and research to support routine assessments of ongoing operations, ensuring strict adherence to prevailing laws and regulations.


- Provide recommendations for best outcomes based on comparative study and existing knowledge.


Dispute Resolution:


- Engage in continuous follow-ups with enterprise leaders to address disputes, difficulties, and pending issues within their operations, ensuring prompt resolution and compliance.


Documentation and Publication:


- Assist in the development of documents and articles for publication, expressing legal opinions on matters of importance.


Enterprise-specific Support:


- Watch over activities to ensure optimal performance, providing recommendations for best outcomes.


- Maintain regular secretarial and compliance documents meticulously.


- Support in aligning external communications and social media posts with legal and social identity.


- Uphold the highest food and beverage standards while maintaining ethical standing.


- Strengthen operational control and foster robust relationships for efficient growth.


- Assist in establishing effective communication with the enterprise, providing support on legal and policy issues.


- Support external communications and negotiation.


- Provide advisory for leveraging government schemes supporting organic or inorganic growth.


- Assist in customer and client communication to ensure significant and amicable relationships.


- Provide consulting for statutory compliances and maintaining records as per standards.

Learning and Development:


Legal Consultation:


- Possess a primary knowledge and interest in learning for providing consultation and advisory in legal matters.


Capacity Building:


- Continuously learn and enhance skills to take on additional responsibilities as per departmental requirements.


Collaboration and Reporting:


Collaboration:


- Collaborate effectively with the Legal and Compliance Coordinator & Policy Advocacy Coordinator to drive research for policy advocacy roles.


Reporting:


- Provide regular updates to the senior legal team on ongoing legal and policy-related matters.


Qualifications:


- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.


- Demonstrated interest in legal matters and policy advocacy.


- Strong analytical and research skills.


- Effective communication and collaboration skills.


- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing requirements.


- Attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping abilities.
