- The US Tax Associate Manager will be responsible for US federal, state, and local income tax compliance and reporting related activities (special emphasis on international tax forms), including full cycle from provision through true-up; as well as provide support for the audit process as required. This person will also be expected to help drive process improvement, leverage technology where possible and also support special projects as needed to identify and mitigate tax exposures andcapitalize on opportunities.
- Ensure efficient, accurate, and timely completion of US federal and state income tax returns, special emphasis on the following:
- Preparation of International tax forms (including supporting workpaper schedules) such as Form 5471, 5472, 8990 (163J Interest limitation), 8991 (BEAT), 8992 (GILTI), 8993 (FDII).
- Identify potential E&P adjustments and calculating E&P for CFCs.
- Calculation of Sub-Part F inclusion for US shareholders.
- Preparation and calculation of FTC limitation and analysis (Form 1118).
- Understand and ensure accurate Federal and international reporting requirements under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
- Preparation of book/tax differences calculation, including supporting workpapers, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Preparation should include use of prior federal tax compliance experience to identify areas to add value and efficiency to processes.
- Ensure all federal tax return filed are fully documented and audit ready.
- Quarterly estimated tax payments calculation and filings.
- Non-income tax and FATCA compliance, including Form 720, Form 1042, and FBAR.
- Develop internal relationships with other financial or operational groups to improve our ability to obtain data needed to accurately forecast taxable income.
- Work with the US Tax Planning team and Tax Accounting team to ensure accurate tax treatment and tax reporting of acquisitions, restructurings, liquidations, and divestitures.
- Coordinate with the Tax Controversy team to ensure workpapers and documentation is consistent with expectations and to support them in resolving notices/IDRs.
- Provide assistance to Tax Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely completion of the year-end and quarterly GAAP income tax reporting process for the US.
- Provide assistance to ensure efficient tax cash flow management; maintain relationship with the Service Center and Treasury to manage cash payment/check request process.
- Assist with external financial audits and reviews of income taxes.
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax Accounting internal controls applicable at the local level.
