Associate Manager - Operational Transaction Services
Work on client engagement teams executing Operational Transaction Services which support key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for transactions
Assist with the execution of the integration plan while working to constantly identify areas for improvement including resolving integration issues
Be responsible for creating work products that document the engagement procedures performed against objectives.
Be responsible for assessing the client's state of readiness with respect to people, resources, planning, data collection and strategy, while identifying high-risk areas, unidentified issues and areas for overall improvement
Effectively participate on teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, while staying abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business. Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel
Required Competencies / skills:
Broad knowledge and deep understanding of one or more core aspects of a typical IT function, including Enterprise Architecture, IT Strategy and Governance, Systems Integration and Application Development, IT Service Delivery, IT infrastructure, IT financials and dynamics of an IT function
Programme and project management expertise with demonstrable experience in managing and being responsible for the delivery of successful programmes
Knowledge of Structured methodologies and a familiarity with industry standards such as ITIL for Infrastructure, Systems Development Life Cycle methods and COBIT for IT governance
Ability to provide insights based on experience on IT aspects of transaction deals that are relevant and valued by clients and readers of the IT Due Diligence reports
Experience of IT outsourcing, vendor management and IT procurement
Very deep knowledge in one or more industry sectors
Good understand of basic financial concepts
Have excellent written and spoken English skills, and be able to discuss and reason complex technical issues
Sound grasp of MS Office suite and Powerpoint and Excel; a natural interest in working and learning to use it to an advanced level
Have ability to search/source right information from relevant sources, with exposure to research databases like Capital IQ, OneSource, Factiva, Mergermarket etc.
Have an eye for detail and be able to work under pressure, remaining organized and structured in task completion
Strong interpersonal skills
Actively promote the sharing of knowledge within the group
Contribute pro-actively to building team spirit
Exposure to one of the following:
Experience of transactions, ideally in performing of IT Due Diligence and/or IT post-merger integration, separation/carve-out assignments
Experience in industry in a Managerial capacity (within an organization's IT department or on the IT supplier side)
Experience of IT advisory and consulting within a professional services environment
Desired Competencies/skills:
Operations Management experience - ideally gained with companies in industrial/ consumer/high tech products, utilities, logistics, telecoms and/or energy. Functional experience will include manufacturing, service provision, supply chain, R&D, corporate affairs, sales and 'back office'.
Professional services 'advisory' experience - either from within a management consultancy, corporate finance advisory firm or as an 'internal consultant' within a corporate.
Deal exposure or experience of the transaction environment - either from within an advisory firm or an internal corporate development team
