Level - Associate

Function - Independent Price Verification

Sub-processes - Equities/Structured Finance/Rates

Shift Timing - 11 to 8 preferred

Location - Mumbai

Required Experience - 4 to 8 years

Job Specification:

1. Candidates will be responsible for running the IPV (Independent Price Verification) processes for Structured Finance/Equities/Rates products (parameter risk based valuation testing & full revaluation).

2. The role involves daily and monthend price testing, reserve calculation including model complexity adjustments and reporting results along with commentary and analysis.

3. Candidates should be comfortable with liaising with key stakeholders such as Regional GVG teams, Product Controllers, Market Risk and Front Office.

4. Knowledge of the derivative valuations and competency with Excel and Access will be an added benefit.

Job Description:

1. Independent Price Verification and reserve calculations of SF parameters such as Bonds, convertible bonds, credit correlation volatilities, loans etc

2. Provide analysis of pricing variance drivers, perform due diligence on the reliability of market data from multiple sources such as Bloomberg, Markit-Totem, brokers and other independent sources

3. Ensure controls around processes such as population completeness and accuracy, and adherence to key operating procedure

4. Good understanding of Credit markets and be able to spot issues when they arise

5. Input into methodology innovation to better reflect fair value ensuring processes are dynamic with market changes

6. Focus on value add including inputting expert judgment on more grey areas within valuation

7. Discuss IPV and reserving results with regional GVG teams and other stakeholders such as Front Office.

8. Articulate recurring issues and trouble shoot them by offering and executing solutions

9. Ability to work under pressure and deliver within strict timelines

10. Develop a strong relationship with product control, risk management, Front Office, models and methodology and Audit teams and have the ability to face off to them.

11. Reporting results including Trading pack preparation for senior GVG management, Front Office, Risk Management and Finance

12. Take a lead in driving process improvements and automations.

13. Be involved in ad-hoc projects / investigation requests from Stakeholders

14. Mentor and offer guidance to more junior members of the team including being a point of escalation

15. Take initiatives to help the wider GVG team and broader Finance department
