Associate Director - Statutory Audit - CA
Position Overview: As the Associate Director for Statutory Audit, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the statutory audit function within the organization. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire audit process, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, managing a team of auditors, and providing strategic insights to enhance the financial integrity and transparency of the organization's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of auditors to ensure high-quality audit engagements.
- Assign responsibilities, set performance goals, and provide ongoing feedback and guidance to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and development.
Audit Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive audit plan based on risk assessment, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.
- Coordinate with senior management to align audit strategies with the overall business strategy.
- Determine the scope of audits, allocate resources effectively, and establish timelines for completion.
Risk Assessment and Compliance:
- Identify and assess financial and operational risks associated with the organization's business processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards, such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Audit Execution:
- Lead and participate in complex audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
- Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Evaluate internal controls and processes to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate audit findings, observations, and recommendations to senior management, including the Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders as needed.
Process Improvement and Innovation:
- Continuously assess and improve audit methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Integrate technology and data analytics to streamline audit procedures and gain deeper insights.
- Professional Development and Knowledge Sharing:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in auditing.
- Provide training and development opportunities to audit team members to enhance their technical and soft skills.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that audit engagements are conducted in accordance with professional standards and internal policies.
Review and sign off on audit reports before final issuance.
Requirements:
Chartered Accountant with 8-10 years of experience in auditing, with progressively increasing responsibilities and a strong background in statutory audits, Accounting principles, Auditing standards and regulatory requirements..
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficient in using audit software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in managing and leading audit teams.
- Strong ethical values and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
