Job Summary:
- With current headcount of more than 15,000 and expectation of growth in various centers in India, this job is necessary to manage PAN India payroll.
Purpose of the Job:
- Primary duties and responsibilities: To manage payroll, drive strategic thinking and automation processes, play role in developing new ideas to help seamless payroll processing where multiple entities operate, Be firm and competent on managing all statutory compliance which is one of the key elements of this role. The firm recognizes statutory compliance to be important that need to align with regulatory rules and requirements.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
- Role involves analyzing & review of payroll process, input data, cross checks, process compliance, operating internal controls, managing the team with very good and professional team management skills, This role has the decision making right in case of all routine payroll processing. However, salary structure and other policy matters are decided by the leader. This role is responsible for managing a team of about 12-15 members.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Experience in Payroll management for employee strength of more than 15,000 with multiple entities
- Knowledge and experience in dealing with matters around Actuary, retirement benefits, Income tax provisions, salary structures in the industry and the implications, ability to identify risks associated with claims and structures that are not ethical and not in compliance with law
- Experience handling employee payroll matters consequent to legal entity transfers
- Preferable to be part of the Organization that processes payroll for employees, client service provider or role in Third party service provider is not preferable
- Accounting knowledge is important
- Analytical skills are very important as the role requires analysis of data processed / handled by team, data crunching, etc.
- Very good communication skills as the role requires communication with employees and various business, finance teams
Supervision Responsibilities:
- Team management of 10-15 members located in various centers in India
- Provide leadership to the team and guidance on processes, Instructions and guidance on various payroll processing and accounting matters, implementation of new technics, developing process efficiency, etc.
- Need to be a team player and good with coordination with other groups within finance organization
- Primarily responsibility of all routine payroll processing activities relating to multiple legal entities, includes involvement of certain execution responsibilities
Other Requirements:
- In depth knowledge of Accounting and need to be a smart Accountant
- Experience working in a MNC environment with majority of payroll processing is managed internally by the team and the candidate
- Attention to details is a must
- Good coordination skills as the role involves working continuously with various groups
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Minimum level of education is Commerce Graduate
Experience:
- Experience of having worked in a payroll lead role of a MNC in India, minimum of 10-12 years work experience in the areas connected with payroll and processing
