Associate Director - Infrastructure

Position Summary:

- We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Associate Director of IT Infrastructure to lead our Storage, Backup, and Wintel operations.

- The ideal candidate will have 12-15 years of experience in managing complex IT infrastructure solutions and will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, and aligning IT infrastructure with business objectives across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for backup and storage infrastructure, aligning with organizational goals and ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

- Create and manage technology roadmaps for backup and storage systems, ensuring alignment with emerging technologies and business needs.

- Oversee the management of backup technologies across physical, virtual, and cloud environments, leveraging tools like Networker, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, and cloud backup solutions.

- Lead process improvements in backup and recovery operations to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

- Ensure the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for backup procedures, solutions, licensing, and project artifacts, while enforcing governance standards.

- Foster strong relationships with OEM technical support teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex infrastructure issues and negotiate strategic partnerships.

- Drive the adoption of new technologies and innovations in storage and backup systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic initiatives.

- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance on best practices, technology trends, and career development.

- Ensure that all backup and storage operations meet audit compliance requirements and manage risk through proactive measures and contingency planning.

- Manage budgets for infrastructure projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI alignment with business objectives.

- Leverage knowledge of storage systems and SAN (Storage Area Networks) to optimize data management processes and drive strategic storage initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

Experience:

- 12-15 years of experience in IT infrastructure management with a strong background in strategic leadership and technology innovation.

- Proven track record of managing complex enterprise-level storage systems and Wintel operations.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in tools like Networker, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, and cloud backup technologies.

- Strong understanding of storage systems (SAN) and cloud infrastructure.

Soft Skills:

- Excellent leadership and strategic planning abilities with a focus on innovation and process improvement.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring strategic alignment and customer satisfaction.

Additional Requirements:

- Certifications in relevant technologies or frameworks (e.g., ITIL or ITSM) are a plus.

- Hands-on experience in disaster recovery planning and audit compliance processes is preferred.
