- The incumbent shall be responsible for managing and scaling up the Indirect Tax practice of the firm, including litigations and advisory, on a pan-India basis, under the guidance of a Partner. He shall also be responsible for building up the teams and guiding and mentoring them. - He shall work closely with the team members and assist them on day-to-day client issues, ensure timely client deliverables, keep abreast of latest regulatory changes and judicial pronouncements and abide by an established set of standard operating procedures. The responsibilities shall include but shall not be limited to: - Business generation from existing and new clients - Managing and building client relationships - Handling litigations viz. notices, inquiries, show cause notices, department audits, etc. and written and in-person representations before authorities - Ensure client deadlines are planned, executed, and closed within time. - Ensure delegation and coordination among teams to achieve desired results - Responding and providing solutions to technical issues to clients and internal teams - Ensuring systems and processes are being followed by teams - Regularly discuss and report client issues to the Partner - Building and strengthening client relationships through regular meetings - Guide, direct, and motivate team members and team building - Building new products in indirect taxes - Leading technical research in developments in the field of indirect taxes Requirements: - Qualified CA, with more than 10 years of post-qualification experience in the field of Indirect Taxes in professional services firm - Expert knowledge in indirect taxes viz. GST, Service Tax, VAT, Excise and Customs. - Experience in handling litigations and representations before tax authorities - Expert in drafting responses to legal notices/refund applications and other submissions - Experience in business generation and bringing in new clients - Should have analytical thought processes to understand and interpret legal provisions of relevant laws.
