Summary :
Your role as an Associate Director, HR, will be multi-dimensional. Your primary role is to spearhead the recruitment process for us. Apart from recruitment, you'll undertake activities like crafting HR policies, using Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential, on-boarding new hires, managing exit processes for employees parting ways.
The goal is to ensure the HR department's operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the entire organization.
Responsibilities :
1) Talent Acquisition:
- Build an enviable software and hardware engineering team that will focus on new product development and support for future company growth.
- Setup hiring, compensation, appraisal, and referral policies with a focus on employee longevity and retention.
- Setup talent acquisition strategies to build teams that are built to last.
- Build a field operations team that can handle hardware deployment functions pan India & globally if necessary
- If required, work with external recruitment agencies to source talent for all business functions
2) Employee Engagement:
- Develop employee engagement initiatives with a razor-sharp focus on employee retention and employee happiness.
- Develop a communication framework between employees that promote ethical work culture, transparency, collaboration, development, and career growth.
- Should develop strong people skills, be approachable, be a good listener and be empathetic towards employees and their concerns.
- Coordinate and arrange employee get-togethers and offsite activities to build employee relationships and spark a fresh ray of thinking
3) Vendor Management :
- Identify and work with all vendors concerned with Core HR functions, HR Operations, Facilities Management, Employee benefits and other functions related to HRM.
- Housekeeping & Facilities management (Food, Beverage & Snacks Management)
- Manage any ad-hoc requirements for seamless functioning of the organization.
- Maintain, Track & Manage Employee Medical insurance to always ensure coverage for all employees.
- Manage vendors for Office Security.
- Clearly define vendor KPIs and define their roles & responsibilities.
- Keep track of vendor KPIs and measure their performance against their scope of work.
- Keep a very tight grip on overall HR expenditures by negotiating responsibly with vendors, suppliers and external partners.
4) Other Core responsibilities :
- Setup organization policies that cover Employment & Leave, Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the workplace, Employee Loans, Allowances and Reimbursement, Hiring Referrals, Work from Home and any other policies that are statutory requirements.
- Chart out a thorough succession planning strategy within the teams for all roles in the Organization.
- Ability to gauge a team's bandwidth and plan for the hiring and the budgeting requirements for those teams.
- Manage & Maintain Employee assigned assets, Office assets, stationery, and IT equipment.
- Work with finance and external tax consultants to provide tax benefits to employees like Food coupons, telephone and internet reimbursements.
- Work with the finance team to ensure all bills of office operations and employee bills are closed on time without any disruption to business or delay in reimbursement payments.
- Plan for branding via employee gifts and goodies.
- Work closely with the management team to understand their requirements and develop an action plan to build the HR dept from the ground up.
- Build a cross-functional team that can handle all aspects of HR management and Office Administration.
- Automate the entire HR operations by using software tools and bring visibility to senior management on the cost function of the HR dept.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications :
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in HR is a must. Any qualification in Human Psychology is preferable.
- Experience in scaling a Tech startup from 100 to 500+ employees.
- Experience in working in the Technology sector, especially in the IoT domain.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to function independently ensuring no bottlenecks in decision making.
- Prior experience in multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Should have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, should be approachable, a good listener and empathetic.
- Prior experience in managing the blue-collar workforce.
- Prior experience in building an HR team encompassing payroll, recruitment, HR operations and admin.
- Possess an upbeat, energetic, positive, professional, and mature attitude towards the job.
- Ability to motivate individuals and teams and facilitate cross-functional team chemistry to achieve an asynchronous work environment.
- Should possess a continuous improvement mindset.
