Associate Director- Controllership- e-bikes business

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing.

2. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements by GAAP and company policies.

3. Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SOX 404.

4. Manage the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors and coordinating audit activities to facilitate a smooth and efficient audit.

5. Provide strategic financial guidance and support to senior management, including analysis of financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

6. Partner with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and efficiency gains, leveraging technology and automation to streamline workflows and enhance reporting capabilities.

7. Monitor and assess emerging accounting standards and regulatory changes, ensuring timely adoption and implementation of new requirements.

8. Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to foster growth and career advancement.

9. Collaborate with tax, treasury, and legal teams to support strategic initiatives, M&A activities, and other corporate transactions, as needed.

10. Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic business environment.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's/PG degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2. Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting

3. Strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

4. Prior experience managing internal controls and compliance initiatives, including SOX 404 compliance.

5. Proven track record of leading successful financial close processes and managing external audits.

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams.

7. Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify risks and opportunities, and develop practical solutions.

8. Strong leadership and management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve results.

9. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) preferred.

10. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
