Compliance Associate Director - one of the world's largest alcohol brands
Our client has over 500 iconic brands spanning across more than 100 countries and is currently looking to hire a Compliance Associate Director for their L&CA team (Legal and Corporate Affairs) based in Bangalore.
As Compliance Associate Director, you will report directly to Compliance Director for the APAC business and will have 2 direct reports based in Bangalore.
Role Scope:
- Act as the primary source of advice on all India compliance matters
- Ensure adherence to the U.S Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the UK Anti-Bribery Act, and other applicable anti-corruption laws
- Stay up-to-date on changes to relevant laws and regulations in India and ensure that the company remains in compliance
- Develop and implement compliance and ethics policies and procedures
- Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance and ethical standards
- Investigate and resolve compliance and ethical violations and develop corrective action plans to prevent future violations
- Manage the investigation workflow according to best-in-class standards
- Ensure implementation of recommended remedial measures
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Finance, Sales, Supply, Procurement, etc., to ensure that compliance and ethics considerations are integrated into business decisions
- Develop and maintain effective lines of communication with senior management on compliance matters
- Perform compliance risk assessment, trend analysis and bring best practice recommendations to senior management
Critical Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in law, business, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a compliance or ethics role
- Ability to effectively communicate complex legal and regulatory issues to non-legal stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks
- Fluency in English and Hindi is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus
- Professional certification in compliance, ethics, or a related field is a plus
Additional added value requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with experience in Compliance / Investigations at a Law Firm or at a multinational company would be a plus
- In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations governing the alcohol industry in India
- Experience working at a company with major, consumer-facing brands
- Experience in beverage/brewing or another highly regulated industry would be a plus
This is a 12-month contract-to-hire role. The selected consultant would be required to based in Bangalore for the entire duration of this role.
