Associate Director - Audit - CA - NGO

Associate Director - NGO Audit :

- Assist the Manager to deliver the annual Internal Audit Work Plan and to implement Internal Audit's annual operational plan, with a particular focus on the NGO activities

- Contribute to the improvement of the NGO systems for risk management, internal control and related governance processes by enabling the Senior Management to provide robust independent assurance to the Audit and Risk Committee about the effectiveness of these systems

- Assist in formulating and updating the internal audit manual and present it to management for consideration and to the board for approval in line with the national audit act and international financial standards in accordance with the audit rules and guidelines.

- Develop audit plans to carry out the responsibilities of the internal audit department in line with the departmental guidelines.

- Review and make appropriate recommendations on policies, plans, procedures and practices in order to minimize risks and safe guard organization's assets in accordance with the audit rules and guidelines.

- Appraise the economy, efficiency in the use of organization's resources through value money audits and make appropriate recommendations.

- Prepare strategic, annual and quarterly audit reports in line with organization's reporting guidelines.

- Report internal audit findings, recommendations and advice to management and the Audit and Risk Committee.

- Confirm that Internal Audit reports and advice have contributed to improvement of systems for risk management, internal control and/or related governance processes.

- Promote Fraud Prevention and response Policy and coordinate the response to cases of fraud and suspected fraud

Qualification, Experience & Skill Sets :

- CA with 4 to 6 years of experience in Internal Audit of NGO

- An understanding and good practice for financial management and non financial performance reporting.

- An understanding of good practice around corporate governance, risk management and legislative compliance

- The successful candidate needs to be a team player, an excellent communicator with good communication and presentation skills in terms of concise oral and written reports, have investigative and analytical skills

- Should have knowledge of audit procedures, including planning techniques, test and sampling methods involved in conducting audits and new auditing techniques and practices

- Proven ability to communicate clearly and confidently, including at Senior Leadership
