Associate Director - Analytics - Insurance - IIT/IIM/XLRI/NIT

- Experience in insurance mandatory. Identifying ground-breaking P&C Insurance analytics propositions, for example in new products, renewals, claims, various P&C Insurance Operations, actuarial, pricing, Policy distribution, Claims, Underwriting etc. Experience with Australian carriers is a plus

- Hands on experience in Data modelling and data analytics tools like, SQL, Tableau, R/ Python. Familiarity and knowledge of pros/ cons of other relevant tools. Good knowledge in advanced analytics / Machine learning / statistical / data mining / Text mining techniques in Regression or classification

- Lead the India Delivery team assigned to growing Insurance business in the Australia and APAC geographies. He/ She will work very closely with different stakeholders to

a) proactively identify opportunities at existing clients

b) bring solid problem solving skills to close new RFPs and deal opportunities

- A typical work day will involve

a) leading client calls

b) leading stakeholders across teams in India to upscale the quality of team's deliverables

c) problem solving for generating new business from insurance clients

d) lead brainstorming sessions for improvement opportunities and take it to completion

- The suitable candidate should have at least 8 years- experience in a similar role and should possess a go -getter attitude. He/ She should be able to deal with a fast changing environment (impact of tech, digitization, impact of covid on insurance players)

- Potential to move permanently to Australia

Key Responsibilities:

Team leadership

a) Deliver on analytical solutions in insurance, leveraging deep business understanding and analytical expertise

b) Specify Analysis tasks to generate insights; work with the team to solve client business problems by translating them into an analytics problem solving framework

c) Guide the analysis of structured and unstructured data from a number of drivers in the interest of solving specific questions/problems with processes in the various functional areas

d) Develop new IP, bring thought leadership through whitepapers etc. Contribute to Strategic Initiatives within Analytics practice

Client Leadership

a) Develop and maintain a strong relationship with business stakeholders

b) Identifying ground-breaking P&C Insurance analytics propositions (see earlier)

c) Identify new analytics opportunities and ensure end to end delivery of proposition

d) Researching the wealth of repository material of Insurance Analytics (e.g. whitepapers, case studies, brochures or any other marketing collateral to help sell P&C Analytics offerings

e) Research and apply new methodologies to varied client situations

Skills:

Must have:

a) 8+ years of experience in analytics, machine learning, advanced statistical techniques, AI and data engineering jobs.

b) High standards of quality - Should be able to work on a problem independently and prepare client ready deliverables with minimal or no supervision

c) Deep knowledge and interest in Insurance (both General Insurance and Life)

d) Hands on experience in Data modelling and data analytics tools (see earlier)

e) Excellent communication & presentation skills

Good to have

a) Experience in managing Python codes and collaborating with customer on model evolution

b) Excellent in project management, team management and conflict management skills

c) Good knowledge of database management and Hadoop/Spark, SQL, HIVE, Python (expertise).

d) Ability to understand data models and identify ETL optimization opportunities. Exposure to ETL tools is preferred

Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor- s/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply

- Strong and in-depth understanding of statistics

- Data analysis experience
