Associate Director - Accounts Payable


Position based with a Global Private Equity fund based in Mumbai.

Job role :

- Incumbent should be a seasoned Financial Shared Service professional responsible for overseeing & transforming Accounts Payable function within SSC, create a risk-free environment and improve vendor experience

- The Finance Shared Service Centre (SSC) Leader will be accountable to guide the integration of the services from all the entities, while meeting all quality and service level agreements with Finance Business Partners.

- Manage the regional AP team and support all aspects of day-to-day activities and deliverables of the function, encompassing:

- Be able to cover the Head of AP and the AP coordinator tasks for contingencies/when the functional/other regional lead is on leave.

- Maintain accurate records and control reports. Suggest resolutions and escalate breaks (if any) to the seniors.

- Manage the accounting aspects of closing the month-end for AP including :

a. Reconciling ledger entries to bank/cash

b. Ensuring timely ledger entries for manual payments

c. Managing the sub ledger to General ledger reconciliation

d. Posting and reporting the relevant general ledger balances

- Manage timely and accurate vendor payments via appropriate prioritization and delegation/assignment to the team members.

- Develop reporting and manage communication and issue resolution on outstanding invoices.

- Lead/ contribute to process automation/transformation effort in AP for streamlined processes with stronger controls to be in place.

- Provide oversight and liaise between AP and cross functional teams e.g., Vendor Management /Technology /Audit/SOX

- Implement and monitor integration of the AP process for new entities.

- Ensure that the AP process documentation is always up to date.

- Oversee and support the training and onboarding process of any new joiner to the AP team.

- Manage the relevant team members as needed to effectively organize and delegate AP tasks among team members in collaboration with the Head of AP.

- Be well-versed with the AP/vendor payment policies and ensure adherence to the same across the organization.

- Monitor and implement reports to help analyzing policy adherence and flag out/suggest policy charges with appropriate business reason.

- Support the tax related process e.g., Deliver annual tax documentation (1099/1942) to vendors/ tax related reconciliation.

- Take initiative and manage ad-hoc projects as needed.
