Roles & Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Monitoring
- Support team leader with planning around strategy and impact to strengthen the democracy and governance collaborative and implement annual action plans
- Under the guidance of the team leader, undertake due diligence efforts for identifying NGO partners, support their development interventions, identify partners- capacity building needs, build grant plans and oversee program budgets and allocations, integrate financial planning in program, ensure budget utilizations and identify potential gaps.
- Develop and implement M&E and ensure rigorous program evaluation, regular reporting from the field for accelerating program performance
- Under the guidance of the team leader, work closely with the philanthropic partners and the governance grantees to drive forward the strategy nationally
- Regularly share field learnings - highlighting successes, challenges, risks, mitigation measures, recalibrations vis--vis the results framework and tracker/execution plan
- Assist team leader on liaisoning with all pillar teams on all deliverables towards ensuring quality of deliverables, and adherence to timelines;
- Coordinate and document all internal meetings for execution, review and recalibration
Build and manage knowledge products
- Assist team leader in creation of high quality reports, best practices from the field, case studies and process documents
- Raise awareness on emerging issues, new innovations and solutions within the thematic areas
- Publish program results with an emphasis on program outcomes, learnings and challenges. Implement a knowledge exchange strategy.
- Support team leader in commissioning thematic studies/ evidence based research on specific aspects of Democracy and Governance, understand and analyse National and State Budgets for ensuring effectiveness of on-ground programs.
Reporting & Donor Management
- Under the guidance of the team leader, the governance ecosystem core team member will be responsible for timely reporting, quarterly checkin reports/decks and periodic review reports - tracking progress w.r.t grant plan/ results framework and tracker; maintaining events / workshops, etc.
- Responsible for all documentation w.r.t check-ins and follow-up; reporting on field visits, events / workshops, grantee partner interactions towards peer learning & collaborations on a periodic basis
- Coordinate and manage field visits for donors
- Assist team with managing requests from donors on knowledge management, dissemination & communications; capacity building and networking
Ecosystem Expertise and Outreach
- Responsible for outreach to all stakeholders, networks, working groups
- Responsible for coordinating all knowledge sessions, expert talks New Initiatives and Pilots
- Support the core team on engaging with IA, Communications, social media and all pillar teams towards new initiatives
- Salesforce champion of the team and working closely with IA&Sysops team to develop back-end systems for institutionalizing knowledge, under the guidance of team leader
Desired Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 4 year's work experience
- Candidates with postgraduate degrees in relevant fields (management, public policy, and humanities and the social sciences) would be preferred, from institutions of repute
- Strong interest in the social sector, prior experience in governance related work is preferred
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English; candidates with proficiency in speaking languages of Indian origin, over and above English, would be preferred
- Technical proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Comfort with a dynamic and demanding work environment
- Excellent time management and project management skills
- Ability to perform routine tasks independently, scheduling and setting individual priorities and timelines, and handling a number of tasks simultaneously
