Job Description: Associate Creative Director (2D)/Creative Director - With experience working in Design firms/ Agencies
Experience: 16-24 years
Job Location: Mumbai
(With one of the vertical of global running Creative Retail design and Environmental Design Agency)
Background
- Reporting to the Business Head, the role leads the creative studio culturally and is responsible for the quality of the creative product and output.
Creative Thinking
- Creatively direct 2D projects; Champion design excellence across the whole studio
- Lead, inspire, motivate and develop project teams
- Able to analyse complex multi-disciplined briefs and lead the team on the best creative response.
Creative Conceptualisation
- Explore the possibilities; consider multiple factors in analysing and challenging client brief
- Work with designers at all levels to develop and present concepts and creative thinking effectively
Client
Direct the design team, lead multiple projects, addressing profitability, working on stakeholder engagement; overseeing the 2D design output at TOOB. An extremely creative but strategic approach to projects:
- Overseeing project strategy & delivery
- Lead client workshops
- Building relationships with senior clients
- Providing client counsel and advice
- Ensuring retention and growth of key clients
- Monitoring profitability and servicing levels of each client
Provide valuable insights from the client's industries to create clever design solutions that add real enhancement to their brands
Planning
- Plan, organize and scope projects of all size, ensure that work flows through studio efficiently.
- Proactively plan up to 3 months ahead; making sure appropriate resourcing and structures are in place.
- Attend weekly management meetings and participate in company discussions at extended board level
- Complete and post timesheets on a daily basis, with minimum billable time of 80%
The Team
Leading and manage a team of direct reports; reviewing how client accounts are run focus on areas for improvement
- Build and promote strong team relationships
- Understand and influence resource requirements
New Business
- Inspire and engage internal teams and clients
- Orchestrate pitches and proposals through effective leadership and facilitation
- Deliver the new business effort, identifying opportunities and positioning the division(s) to be able to competently respond to these opportunities
- Responding to incoming new business enquiries, nurturing and converting them
- Managing the process from initial enquiry, through to strategy, creative, pitch development and pitching, working with the directors and the existing team
- Identifying and exploiting other growth opportunities, from new products and services to entering new market sectors
Professional and Technical Experience:
- Degree in graphic design or similar
- Solid experience in a retail design company, brand consultancy or similar with min 8-10 years of experience
- Strong creative folio with international & local FMCG client exposure
- Good verbal communication and presentation skills
- Clear understanding of print and production techniques
- Ability to undertake brand audits, review competitors, study consumer profiles, behaviors and mindsets
- Ability to brief and manage 3rd party consultants & contractors
- Excellent sketching and drawing abilities
- Knowledge in digital and its impact on brands
