Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential clients, emerging industry trends, and lucrative business opportunities within East Africa.
- Analyze the competitive landscape, staying abreast of industry developments to inform strategic decision-making.
- Generate leads through a multi-pronged approach, including cold calling, strategic networking, and leveraging online platforms.
- Qualify leads based on pre-defined criteria, prioritizing high-potential opportunities for the sales team.
- Collaborate effectively with the sales team to develop compelling sales presentations and proposals.
- Assist in the preparation of contracts and other sales-related documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain meticulous records of all business development activities, including lead pipelines and progress towards targets.
- Contribute to the development and execution of a comprehensive business development strategy, aligning with the company's overall growth objectives.
- Provide valuable insights and recommendations on product/service enhancements based on market feedback and customer needs.
- Foster strong communication with internal teams, keeping them informed of market dynamics and business development progress.
- Prepare regular reports to track key metrics, analyze performance, and identify areas for improvement.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, promoting offerings and building valuable connections.
Required Skills:
- Graduation or Post Graduation in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in business development or a relevant sales role.
- Proven track record of identifying and qualifying leads, generating new business opportunities, and contributing to sales growth.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate market research into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence and ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and email communication tools.
- Fluency in English (required); knowledge of an additional East African language (a plus).
- Strategic thinking, strong follow-up skills, and a proactive approach are essential
