Assistant Vice President - Program Management Office

Position Description :

The Assistant Vice President - PMO is responsible for:

- Driving project/transition teams and delivering on multiple projects of various complexities

- Understanding and building program/project frameworks to achieve specific objectives

- Creating project management plans to deliver the scope by managing schedule and budgets

- Provides subject matter and domain expertise to the teams

- Managing stakeholder expectations and relationships in general for the PMO and also specific to a project - depending on the nature of the project, stakeholders may be both internal and external customers

Additional Responsibilities :

- Oversees all components of diverse projects, including project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost

- Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met

- Communicates with cross-functional teams to provide timely and accurate information and status updates

- Has shared responsibility for budget, policy formulation and planning for the Project Management Office

- Contributes to formulation of strategies for project leadership and other functional areas

- Evaluates team member performance and makes decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions

- Applies in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area

- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how areas of project leadership collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals

- Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards

- Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; including negotiation with external parties

- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for company's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

- Is responsible for building, standardizing, maintaining and driving compliance around various project management artefacts used across the organization in managing projects

Skills and Capabilities :

- In-depth knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies along with proven experience in the areas of new account implementation, account transition, continuous improvement initiatives, enterprise wide projects to name a few

- Very good understanding of technology frameworks, concepts and applications

- Experienced in managing enterprise wide projects in an IT/ITES set up

- Ability to comprehend financial statements

- Ability to review contractual documents, provide inputs and recommendations as needed

- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and visual skills

- Ability to articulate clearly through different mediums such as presentations, conference meetings, in-person meetings etc.

- Very good written and verbal communication skills

- Strong analytical skills - Ability to analyze data, read report, draw inferences and present findings

- Organizational skills, adaptability and composure under pressure are equally important

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to build and maintain strong and effective stakeholder relationships

- Working knowledge in MS Projects, MS Office and Google Workspace

Qualifications :

- 8 to 10 years of experience in a related role with commensurate people management experience

- Bachelor's/University degree

- PMP Certification required

- Scrum Master and/or Agile Coach Certification a plus

Working Hours : Mon to Fri - late evening shifts (4 pm to 12 am)
