Assistant Vice President - Operational Risk - BFSI

- To adhere and tailor the Global ORM policies and guidelines to India shared services and work closely with business units

- To understand and implement the ORM approach as defined under global and local regulatory requirements

- Taking ownership of relationships as required and maintain ongoing dialogues to embed an operational risk culture throughout the organisation

- To establish a set of operational risk products and services to support the business areas- management of operational risk

- Closely manage and challenge the business in their Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) process and work closely with global counterparts to ensure Op Risk information is consistent and adequately challenged

- Manage and challenge the internal event logging process and remediation

- Work with business units to define and track Key Risk Indicator (KRI)

- Ability to tie up all key OR framework components together for ensuring a holistic risk view for senior management

- Perform deep dive reviews for new business initiatives and existing activities

- To participate in ad hoc operational risk related projects (e.g. information security, new process migrations etc)

- To provide operational risk related training and convey the risk lessons to increase the risk awareness and foster a strong risk culture

- To work very closely with other control functions such as Internal Audit, Compliance, Legal etc

- To develop tools and templates to allow the effective collection, review and use of operational risk information

- To develop and prepare the operational risk reports for senior management and answer their queries

- To act in proactive manner to assist the business unit and support functions to assess and manage their operational risk and provide expert advice and suggest practical recommendations to streamline and improve the internal control framework

- To establish the best practice of operational risk management which is comparable to industry standards

- Developing specific aspects of the operational risk framework as required

- Representing Operational risk management in risk committees, forums and discussions

- Providing independent expert advice to the business areas on operational risk issues

- Reporting and escalating issues when necessary

- Providing expert technical input and advice to operational risk framework development and issues

- Have 3 years experience in managing operational risk in financial services institutions or in a relevant control or risk function

- Possess capital markets knowledge and experience

- Have excellent communication and influencing skills

- Ability to connect the dots and look at big picture

- Display a proactive approach to operational risk management

- Be experienced in managing key business relationships

- Collaborates across teams / functions / regions
