Assistant Vice President - HR Business Partner
About Delivery & Advisory (D&A) :
- Delivery and Advisory is a new global team within HR, enabling the function to execute delivery of consistent, best in class HR products and services to our colleagues across the organisation; as follows:
- Act as the execution vehicle for HR products and services, people managers and many senior leaders across the entire organisation;
- Leading on and delivering transformational and complex people related activity (e.g. change programmes, functional transformation, embedding talent offerings);
- Standardising and continuously improving the HR service offering end-to-end;
- Advising on strategic and complex people queries, using technical HR knowledge and relationship management capabilities;
- Leverage MI and insights that help us develop more appropriate offerings for clients as well as determining where HR activity is best executed;
- Enable and support the delivery of our HR service offering to colleagues and act as the commercial enabler by working in collaboration across all of the HR Transaction Cycles (HRTCs)
- D&A has 4 core pillars: Cyclical Services, Programme Services, People Advisory Services and Service Management and Improvement.
Overall purpose of role :
- The AVP People Advisory Partner will act as an enabler and advisor to business stakeholders, using analytics and insight to shape the business strategy and enable a high performance culture within the business/teams
- The role holder will lead on strategic and complex HR work with a variety of business stakeholders, both cross entity and globally (e.g. sale or relocation of a business or team, spans and layers review and optimisation, diversity projects spanning across multiple HR TCs, acquisitions and mergers, site or team health reviews)
Key Accountabilities :
- Acts as lead change agent and/or accountable executive for complex and large scale change projects
- Shapes, lead and deliver on lifecycle processes in partnership with Cyclical Service Delivery leads
- Proactively navigates through the relevant stakeholder matrix to solve complex queries
- The role will help shape a culture of cross entity working, collaboration, continuous improvement and professional excellence
- This role will be responsible for identifying and driving opportunities for cross-entity knowledge sharing
- This role will use consultancy skills to deliver best in class outcomes without extensive business context
- Coaches and mentors other People Advisory Partners (BA4, maybe some peers) to develop their entity knowledge, consultancy skills and HR best practice
- Builds credibility across D&A both across the businesses and within the function, being seen as a proactive enabler with complex HR related matters
- Work in partnership across the D&A team and wider HRTCs to translate business needs into best in class HR solutions
- Collaborates across the D&A pillars and wider TCs to understand the opportunities for consistencies and efficiency across D&A and the wider HR function.
- Ensures high standard delivery of agreed HR products and interventions to the business
- Provides credible and relevant independent perspective on how the business is performing via a two-way dialogue that joins up broader views
- Promotes consistency across the HR function and is able to able to say no to the business and HR colleagues
- Acts as point of escalation for people advisory partners (AVP & BA4) on complex people problems/issues
- Critically assesses people related products, both within the business and HR function, to ensure that they are best in class, working with relevant product owners/TCs to drive improvement and align with overall business and HR strategy
Stakeholder Management and Leadership :
- The AVP People Advisory Partner will act as an enabler and advisor to business stakeholders, using analytics and insight to shape the business strategy and enable a high performance culture within the business/teams
- Key stakeholders will also be across D&A specifically with our CSP/PSP partners and Advisory TL and Advisory colleagues.

Person Specification :
- Proven experience of leading complex change programmes as well as other complex HR products and services in to diverse businesses
- Experience leading a team to deliver best in class HR products
- Ability to drive innovation across a complex matrix organisation working with a number of stakeholders within HR
- The role holder will have a flexible, collaborative and adaptable style, using knowledge, data and experience to challenge and influence senior stakeholders across business entities and the wider HR function i.e. other TCs
- Excellent personal credibility as a senior HR professional with the ability to build trusted relationships across the organisation
- Outstanding verbal and communication skills, with poise and confidence to interact and influence with all levels of management
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to present insightful data to influence decisions
- Excellent understanding of HR Technical expertise balanced by practical, pragmatic and solution orientated approach
- Commercially astute with a client-centric approach
- Delivery focussed, with a passion for excellence, colleague centricity and business need
- Proven ability to transform the HR function through continuous improvement and build an organisational culture which fosters innovation
- Extensive experience diagnosing and delivering strategic HR solutions to a variety of clients or customers
