Position: AVP Finance

Summary Job Description:

- Management of financial and accounting requirements

- Ensuring compliance with local rules and procedures for the investment management firm and associated Funds

- Ensuring secretarial, legal, regulatory, tax and financial reporting related compliance

- Budgeting and forecasting for future expansion and growth

- Assisting in management of financial controls and reporting on a regular basis

- Communication with SVP - Finance and senior management for finance, operations and compliance related matters - Accounting, Administration and Operations for Investment Manager and AIF

- Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation

- Prepare monthly payroll for the team and ensure compliance with local payroll obligations

- Ensure application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures

- Ensure secretarial and regulatory compliances for the Investment Manager and AIF

- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for the SVP - Finance and Board of Directors

- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support for annual audits

- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all tax (Direct and Indirect taxes, TDS) and regulatory (Company Law / SEBI / RBI) returns / reporting

- Assist in investor on-boarding, review of KYC, liaising with Trustee, Custodian, legal counsel, etc.

- Ongoing reporting and investor relationship management

- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems

- Remain current on audit best practices; and local regulations and laws regarding company and fund operations

Cash Management : 

- Oversee monthly cash management

- Oversee Accounts Payables and significant disbursements

- Assist in Accounts Receivable management and ensure timely collection of dues

- Maintain and foster banking relationships

Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Management

- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual budgets and financial statements, including cash-flows and forecasts for review and analysis with the SVP - Finance

- Work with senior management team to enable execution of business plans and provide updates on financial reporting against forecast

- Assist the SVP - Finance in identifying financial, tax, compliance and legal issues, relating to current operations and prepare the firm for proposed amendments to various laws and regulations.

Position Requirements : 

- Chartered Accountant

- Proficient in English

- Role will be based in Mumbai

- Background in Big 4 accounting firms and/or Private Equity Funds desirable

- 3-5 years of relevant experience

- Working knowledge and understanding of Ind- IFRS / AS / GAAP and Accounting Standards

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Experience working with external auditors, regulators, third-party service providers, internal controls and compliance related issues

- IR coordination
