Assistant Vice President - Enterprise Risk Governance & Compliance platform - IT

In this role you will be responsible for systems configuration and operational support for Synchrony Financials' Enterprise Risk Governance and Compliance platform (BWise eGRC). As an Agile team member, you will develop user stories, perform configuration updates, functional / validation testing and participate in all Agile rituals. The ideal candidate will be a strong critical thinker capable of a broad range of technical configurations. As a senior administrator, you will lead large projects, direct and train other team members. You will engage with various business and technical partners in BWise eGRC projects that drive continuous improvement. You will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions for developing business requirements, user interface design and participating in end user testing. This role is a senior functional administrator within a team of 7 and will be leveraged as a technical SME and mentor to junior staff.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

- Interact with cross functional teams to design functionality and process changes to improve customer experience.

- Support product release demos and develop communication materials to support releases with enterprise user forum and senior stakeholders

- Project Management and Technical Leadership - Responsible for developing and delivering projects and related growth initiatives in Enterprise Governance Risk Compliance (eGRC) application while ensuring superior user experience. Support project management team in initiating, planning, and executing on key business initiatives

- Partner with cross functional leaders (e.g. IT, 2nd Line Risk Teams - Ops Risk, Risk Testing, Compliance, Issues Management, Process Governance) to discuss & translate requirements, identify improvements, suggest strategic solutions

- Drive DevOps Initiative - QA Automation, Code Deployment Automation, etc.

- Develop Technical Runway and assume Release Train Engineer responsibilities

- Responsible across the full Agile life cycle for analysis, configuration and testing supporting multiple GRC teams

- Creation and update of SYF Agile documentation and evidence including user stories, maintenance of technical documentation and test evidence

- Identifying process improvement opportunities for the Agile team and for the GRC platform

- Maintain technical expertise in BWise configuration and other technologies required to support eGRC.

- Work with IT and business teams, as required

- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

- Ability to travel 10-20% of the time

Qualifications / Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline

- Minimum 8+ years of overall experience.

- Minimum 5 years experience in support Financial/ Risk & Compliance applications.

- Minimum 5 years experience in working in cross-functional/matrix environment

- Should have hands on experience in SQL, CSS, JEXL, Javascript, BWise Technical Admin or Functional Admin Certification.

- Problem solver with ability to promote collaborative problem solving.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment and drive initiatives

Desired Qualifications:

- Previous experience in application configuration.

- Previous experience with risk management application - especially BWise.

- Agile experience.

- Pentaho or other ETL experience

- QA or other testing experience

- Any level of Experience using BWise One UI & related technologies

- Pentaho or other ETL experience

- QA including an automation tools such as Selenium, Maven, TestNG,

- Experience using JIR
