Position : - Assistant Scientist - Polymer (Packaging Industry)

Location : Chennai

Industry : Packaging

Education : Masters/Doctorate or equivalent in Chemical, Polymer, Material (or) Packaging Technology/Science.

Background :

- Industrial work experience and proven track record in innovation, R&D in Polymer Science and Technology with excellent communication skills.

Report To : Lead Technologist - Corp R&D

Experience & Capabilities :

- Sound scientific knowledge of polymer/material science and technology. Experience in the field of laminate tubes and rigid polymers, caps & closures, based product development is desirable.

- The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge on polymer based packaging technology

- Ability to work independently and to collaborate with multi-functional teams

- Demonstrated creativity in applied science/Technology

- Should well-versed in developing design of experiments and its execution in polymer science/Technology. Demonstrates scientific rigor in assessing own data and that of others

- Appreciation and understanding of the product development process from concept to commercialization

- Independent with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Understanding of Techno-legal aspects : IPR, FTOs

Responsibilities :

- To conceptualize, plan and execute applied scientific concepts from bench to mill scale

- Conduct scientific investigations to explore novel differentiated and disruptive structures based on laminate tubes and rigid plastics which will provide value addition to the customers

- Must be able to influence scientific thinking and direction in materials and packaging technology based discovery projects

- Be able to build and manage collaborations within and outside the organization.

- Provide precise technical reports to teams and present findings at internal meetings

- Be able to serve as a mentor and act as a positive role model
