Assistant Manager - Risk Management - Prime Brokerage

The Assistant Manager in the Risk Management team at PS&F is responsible for managing the portfolio risk and the amount of leverage we can offer clients. This role involves close collaboration with various business functions (sales, securities lending, client management) and transversal teams (Credit Risk, Market Risk). The Mumbai-based team supports the global desk in managing client financing risk effectively. Specific responsibilities include risk assessment, monitoring, automation, and reporting.

Responsibilities

Risk Assessment and Monitoring:

- Continuously assess, monitor, and review portfolio risk.

- Identify changes in strategies or asset mix in client portfolios.

- Recognize drivers and trends affecting portfolio performance.

Collaboration with Risk Teams:

- Liaise with Credit and Market Risk teams to understand and enhance stress testing methodologies.

- Implement these methodologies in front office risk tools.

- Conduct various scenario analyses.

Automation and Analysis:

- Develop and utilize automation tools for risk monitoring.

- Analyze internal and external client performance.

- Monitor crowding metrics across various dimensions.

- Manage and execute ad hoc projects for the risk team.

Reporting and Escalation:

- Generate accurate risk summaries at different levels (position, client account, regional, global).

- Analyze significant changes in client portfolios.

- Escalate major portfolio swings to management promptly.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Educational Background:

- Graduate degree in mathematics or engineering.

- Strong analytical skills.

- Knowledge of finance is a bonus.

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

Proficiency in Python programming and SQL.

Familiarity with analytical tools such as Tableau.
