Job purpose:

- To add value to the Business by applying best practice purchasing techniques for purchase function Wada factory.

- The role will also involve coordination with stores, production & accounts.

Job Tasks & Position:

- The jobholder will report to the Works Manager & act in close coordination with the Supply Chain Manager.

- The jobholder will manage the purchase function at the unit in accordance with the best practice techniques in cost & time efficient manner.

Specific activities will include:

- Preparing a monthly sourcing plan for all raw materials and ensuring that there is no loss of production due to shortages

- Setting optimal stock norms for all materials and managing the same to optimize on working capital management.

- Identification, selection, development of vendors for RMs & spares.

- Manage third parties and ancilliary units attached to the unit.

- Drive Cost reduction programmes in the unit

- Demand planning, production planning & inbound logistics of the RMs & spares.

- Transactions for purchase orders from RFQs to delivery.

- The jobholder will be located at Wada factory, near Mumbai.

Person Requirements / Competencies:

- Should be Engineer

- Six to eight years hands-on experience in Procurement of RM, PM, spares.

- He should also have exposure to planning & logistics in a manufacturing set-up.

- Experienced in relationship management throughout the supply chain.

- He should posses a service orientation towards internal customers – namely operations (manufacturing).

- Ability to critically appraise technical specifications from a commercial perspective.

- Proven track record in successful implementation of cost reduction initiatives.

- High level of interpersonal skill across the supply chain & other functions.

- The jobholder must be a self-driven, dynamic and willing team player and be motivated to continually support the development of purchasing & supply best practice.
