Job Title: Media Relations Asst. Manager

Reports to: Manager, Media Relations

Job Purpose:

The media relations executive will aid the Manager in execute external communications strategy, leveraging print, digital and broadcast media effectively. Our media relations goal is to elevate and enhance thought leadership position in the market through strategic and compelling communication for all external influencers and stake-holders. This role will play a very crucial role in managing internal processes and liaise with media on an ongoing basis to fulfil the external communication objectives.

Responsibilities:

- Media Management: Create and implement innovative programs that drive visibility and its businesses externally; develop and maintain strong relationship with media, specially senior journalists and editorial teams

- Media tracking and measurement: Drive media coverage tracking and competitive analysis, and develop metrics to measure communications outcomes

- Servicing internal business teams: Be an important point of contact with internal business teams to understand their media requirements, liase with media and develop favourable relationships with them through proactive media engagement.

- Maintain MIS and media database, business reporting on media deliverables

Experience & Expertise:

- Must have at least 4 years of relevant experience in the field of public relations/media

- Must have a good understanding of the financial sector, prior experience with banking and financial institutions will be an advantage

- Must have strong relationships with financial and business media or should possess the ability to develop such relationships.

- Should have the knack to engage with media across all levels and be able to seed and generate positive stories

- Be highly motivated, able to act independently, and possess strong leadership and process management skills

- Must be pro-active in approach, strong team player and have the ability to manage internal stakeholders, advice and handhold them on media outreach

- Must possess exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills as well as relationship building and networking skills

Educational qualification:

- Master's degree in public relations, journalism, communications or equivalent

- Should be a team player and have the ability to stretch as per requirements

- Should have good knowledge of media and journalists in the financial sector and possess strong media relationships.
