OUR BIG4 CLIENT & WELL KNOWN CA FIRM IS HIRING FOR ASSISTANT MANAGERS / MANAGERS/ASSOCIATE DIRECTORS / DIRECTORS - INDIRECT TAXATION

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES (FOR ASSISTANT MANAGERS / MANAGERS)

- Working knowledge of handing GST related compliances independently, including GST refunds, annual returns, and audits under GST

- Managing clients on independent basis. Regular updating technical knowledge.

- Handling advisory and routine compliance work under GST and Customs which includes:

- Preparation of opinion / note / memo on any indirect tax issues / business transactions

- Expert research skill

- Special advisory assignments such as Health checks, Tax due diligences etc

- Experience in handling litigation matters like reply to SCN, preparation of appeals, assessments, etc

- Review of workings prepared by client and junior team members

- Filing returns

- Leading indirect tax engagements (Compliance, Representation and Advisory)

- Technical and quality reviews

- On-time delivery

- Client liaison

- Being a consultant/advisor on indirect tax matters to other practices across all locations

- Risk management from an indirect tax perspective on all engagements across all locations

- Clients and business development:

- Managing and maintaining relationship with clients

- Identifying new opportunities for serving existing clients

- Targeting and obtaining work from potential clients

- Development of the Practice and promotion of the organization's brand name - articles in publications, speaker at seminars, etc

- Building and managing a team (minimum 3 team members) including recruitment, appraisals, developing training material and providing training to team members

- Commercial: Achieving target billing and meeting related financial metrics

- A strong passion and interest for tax

- Chartered/Cost Accountant with 4+ years of experience in indirect tax

- Specialist knowledge of service tax and VAT

- Working knowledge of excise and customs

- Knowledge and expertise to handle litigation/ departmental matters of erstwhile laws such as service tax, excise, VAT, customs

- Advance excel skill in candidates will be preferred

- Talent/ Knack/ understanding of the manner of communicating / liaising with department officer

- Experience in compliance, representation and advisory

- Should have been in a client facing role

- Supervisory/leadership experience of at least 2 years

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ASSOCIATE DIRECTORS & DIRECTORS

- Acting as a trusted business advisor to clients on a variety of issues including sales & use and excise tax overpayment reviews, tax implications of sales and purchase transactions, audit defence services, nexus planning, and voluntary disclosures

- Indirect Tax Leadership Team

- As a key member of the Indirect Tax leadership team the individual will be expected to participate in building the Vision and execution of the vision for the Indirect Tax service line.

- Participate in business development activities and initiatives with the US Indirect Tax engagement teams, and manage a pipeline for

- Strong People leadership skills and leading by example. o

- Develop & implement strategies for Talent Acquisition, Development & Retention

- Technical Leadership and Client Engagement:

- Personal accountability in leading large client engagements

- Managing engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing.

- Performing a quality level technical review of state and local indirect tax returns on select engagements. o Managing the inventory of indirect tax notices from state and local jurisdictions on select engagements o Manage preparation of client billings and account reconciliations.

- Managing the transition of new Clients, including developing and monitoring work plans timelines, defining data requirements, etc.

- Lead and participate in the Tax Technical and Domain knowledge enhancement projects for the professionals

- Develop and Enhance personal technical knowledge and understanding of US Tax

- Collaboration & Teaming:

- Drive best practices to ensure the continued trajectory in integration with global member firms

- Actively collaborate with other service lines to deliver client excellence through a 'One

- Operational Excellence:

- Manage Service Delivery for Indirect Tax US and lead the evolution and transformation of operations and processes through implementation of best in class practices from across the domain.

- Lead and implement Quality initiatives for the Business Units and clients managed by the individual

- Lead and participate in the Continuous improvement activities for the operations managed by the individual

- The candidate must have over 12 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in a Big 4 Firm Minimum of 5 years of experience in working with US engagement teams

- Experience of working in a cross-cultural environment Secondment / onshore experience in US will be an added advantage.
