Assistant Manager/Manager - Analytics - Life Insurance

Job Description:

Manager (Life & Annuities Insurance Analytics)

Brief description of the role:

- Work with the team to solve client business problems by translating them into an analytics problem solving framework

- Analyze structured and unstructured data from a number of drivers in the interest of solving specific questions/problems with processes in the various functional areas

- Identifying ground-breaking Life and Annuities Insurance analytics propositions, including but not limited to new products, renewals, whitespace space identification, various Insurance Operations, distribution, Claims, Underwriting etc-

- Deep understanding of Life, Annuities and Pension products

- Hands on experience in Data modeling and data analytics tools like, SQL, Tableau and R or Python and good knowledge in advanced analytics / Machine learning / statistical / data mining / Text mining techniques in Regression or classification

- The individual needs to leverage existing reporting and generate actionable insights

- Identify analytics opportunities and ensure end to end delivery of proposition

- Researching and consulting with clients on wealth of repository material of Insurance Analytics tools like whitepapers, brochures or any other marketing collateral to help sell Life & Annuities Analytics offerings

- Deliver on analytical solutions in insurance, leveraging deep business understanding and analytical expertise

- Should be able to consult customers on Life/Annuities Insurance specific analytics solutioning roadmap / blueprint

- Develop and maintain a relationship with business stakeholders

- Business Problem Solutions with Value addition to client businesses

- Specify Analysis tasks to generate insights

- Maintain high standards of quality

- Research and apply new methodologies to varied client situations

- Project Management

- Team Management

- Contributions to Strategic Initiatives within Analytics practice

Candidate Profile:

Education/Qualification:

1. Mandatory: Master's degree in management/statistics with Bachelors in Engineering/ Technology/Statistics or Masters in Computing (In case of graduation in Non-engineering stream), like MCA, BCA, M.Sc. in IT, No B.Com / B.A. candidates unless they have a computing Masters. Master's degree (if there), should be full time (no IGNOU)

Work Experience:

1. Flexible: 3+ years in the Analytics industry

Functional Skills:

1. SAS knowledge (mandatory)

a. Writing/ Trouble shooting SAS & VBA codes & SQL queries

b. Should have prior experience in Data handling/Manipulation using SAS

2. SQL knowledge (Good to have)

a. Should be able to use optimized SQL queries to retrieve and process data from databases

3. Knowledge of Python/Tableau/R is a plus

Other Requirements:

1. Willing to work 1-11 pm, IST

2. Good communication skills - should be able to converse reasonably fluently in English
