The requirement is for Investment Consulting support function. The scope of processes includes quarterly performance report preparation, manager search screening and report, investment policy statement preparation and amendment, asset allocation and portfolio structuring. The India based consulting support team works closely with the onshore client facing team and helps them in preparing analytical and client materials pertaining to the above work-types. The execution of consulting support functions require strong understanding of asset classes, investment strategies, portfolio construction, performance measurement along with investment acumen and investment judgments making capabilities. These processes also require gaining strong understanding of the company's investment consulting approaches, research processes and tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Producing quarterly Manager Commentaries which provide a structured discussion of the performance results for the previous quarter, including any changes to philosophy, people, and process, performance attribution, what helped or hurt performance, and any other factors which impacted performance during the quarter

- Preparing portfolio performance report that includes evaluation of performance of individual investments and asset classes, comparing the same with benchmark and peer group and making recommendations on individual investments/managers

- Making asset allocation and portfolio construction with close coordination with consultant/sr. consultant

- Screening and selecting investment manager(s) based on client investment style, goals and risk appetite

- Producing an initial Research View (RV), and semi-annual updates to it, which provides 2-4 pages of description of the investment process, methods used for developing investment ideas, the process used to incorporate those ideas into investment portfolios including selection, weighting, rebalancing, and sell disciplines, as well as risk management techniques such as sector weighting limits. The FRV also provides an evaluation of the investment process used to guide clients currently investing in or considering new or additional commitments to that strategy

- Maintaining a point of contact between Mercer and the strategy's investment manager and producing a Field News Memo (FNM) in the event that the manager contacts the Investment Analyst and provides information about a significant change to the strategy's philosophy, people, or process.

Required qualifications and skills

- Strong level of understanding and proper usage of investment-related terminology in written and verbal communication in English.

- Knowledge and experience with investment management strategies (equity, fixed income and alternatives).

- Experience in analyzing investment portfolios or researching investment managers located outside of India.

- Demonstrated success working with out-of-country professionals.

- Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities and work in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment, ensuring standards and deadlines are met and keeping others informed and up-to-date

- Ability to work as part of a team and build strong working relationships with peers.

- Ability to understand the link between data, client needs and its application to the - bigger

- Varied experience of international markets - US, UK

- Excellent business English, both written and verbal.

- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, third party tools - Bloomberg, Morning Star, etc.

Eligibility:

- Masters in Commerce/Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent

- Currently pursuing CFA

- 3-5 years- experience in Investment Management Strategies
