About Procurement :
- Procurement operates the global sourcing, purchasing, supplier and spend management for Barclays within COO and is responsible for working in partnership with Business Units and suppliers to deliver innovative solutions for Barclays, balancing costs against service levels and risks, enabling Barclays to achieve its ambition of becoming the bank of choice. This includes responsibility for leveraging group wide spend to best effect, delivering effective global spend management across central teams, setting the framework for Procurement and Third Party risk management, ownership for the procurement systems and processes which support and control buying activity and delivering firm-wide Accounts Payable & expense payments.

Overall purpose of role :
The role supports the sourcing activity for a sourcing team/s and supports the businesses in navigating the sourcing process, the role requires strong organisation skills and the ability to effectively manage relationships with the sourcing teams, contract teams, suppliers and business users The role holder will manage the administration of specific steps within the global procurement process and supports all deals undertaken by the designated sourcing team/s.
It is very important too that there is a very high expectation to work closely with the business users, sourcing team leads, contract teams and suppliers for the execution of each type of deals in a lean and the most optimal way for the firm. Execution of each of these opportunities would benefit Barclays financially as well as for its reputation.
Key Accountabilities :
- Responsible for key process activities across the sourcing team ensuring adherence to all control, risk and governance processes.
- Responsible for the creation and management of reporting across the sourcing team.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Barclays procurement structure, policies and procedures, and ensure Management Assurance results with high degree of compliance, and all project documentation is kept current with a high degree of accuracy.
- Maintain currency and compliance in all required policy, tools and systems training.
- Partner with the business users, catalogue management, sourcing leads and contract management to execute deals which are policy compliant within expected turnaround times
- Provide support to ensure connectivity between the completion of deals and its execution in eProcurement/Coupa and associated systems
- Work with Procurement Spend and Performance Team to provide ongoing reporting and monitoring of deals executed by sourcing against target, analyse and identify opportunities for further improvement across commodity categories, business units and regions
- Suggest process enhancement to improve the sourcing process.
- The role holder will be required to build and maintain a strong operational and strategic network with the Sourcing colleagues to improve sourcing processes and capability.
- The role holder will be able to work under pressure and multi-task to support a number of concurrent deals with multiple sourcing managers, stakeholders, contract managers and suppliers
- The role holder will be the conduit between the Sourcing teams assigned and the Sourcing Support and Contract Support teams
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
- The role holder will need to be a strong and visible team player.
- The role holder will be working closely with the Sourcing Leads, Business stakeholders, Sourcing, Contracts and Procurement Operations teams. This will be in an operational capacity with an emphasis on driving further operational value and excellence for the sourcing team.
The Sourcing team works closely with the internal legal teams to ensure commercial risk is minimised for Barclays on the deals they are negotiating and remediating as well as the internal clients- / business areas.
Decision-making and Problem Solving :
Deliver, manage task, co-ordinating between the various stakeholders and teams to deliver consistent accurate information in a timely manner, ensuring all parties are kept informed of the deals status, escalating issues where appropriate to obtain resolution.
- Understand the sourcing processes, controls and policies underpinning the use of the system, the system's business objectives, and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in related change or improvement projects from design through to deployment, including such aspects as budget, resource, plan and issues and risk management.
- Meet personal performance management requirements through timely adherence to workload management, prioritisation and reporting requirements.
- Positively support and contribute to team building and team dynamics though personally displaying team attributes.

Person Specification :
- The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge of business process, be articulate and detailed in managing processes, with experience of commercial models and approaches/techniques necessary to achieve best in class deals. They should have a proven ability to conduct engagement/communication with stakeholder- s, suppliers and sourcing managers.
- The successful candidate will have excellent communications both orally and via email, will the ability to analyse data and present in a coherent and understandable manner. Creating and maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships will be essential.
- The successful candidate should a proven track record of overall coordination of virtual teams and cross functional groups to execute required deals and other Sourcing activity as required.
- The successful candidate must maintain a sound awareness of risk, process and controls in their area.
- They must understand the commercial value drivers over a medium term timeframe with a good knowledge of competitors and current industry practices.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- The successful candidate should have strong analytical and process management experience and ideally have experience in finance or commercial sourcing activities.
- Strong networking and stakeholder management skills a must
- A strong command of English and Commercial language is a must both in the spoken and written form. Any additional languages spoken will be a bonus.
- They must understand various commercial value drivers with a good knowledge of best procurement industry practices.
- Build trusted stakeholder relationships
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
- Any Business Process qualifications e.g. Lean, Six Sigma
- Project Management qualification or experience
- Experience of improving and managing business process, any qualifications or certification would be a bonus
- Experience or sourcing or working in a Financial Services organisation would be a bonus
- Sourcing or procurement experience
- Awareness of enterprise risk frameworks
