Assistant Manager (CL-8) in the Employment Law- compliance vertical

Requirement:
- We are looking for a lawyer for a position of Assistant Manager in the Employment Law (EL) Legal Group with the below mentioned role description & key skills.
Reporting will be to Associate Director [Legal]:
EL Legal Group has a diverse portfolio- it supports strategic initiatives concerning labour laws, & works frequently with industry forums in consultation process for new legislation. The team is one of the key internal stakeholders for implementing any change management required for labour law compliance. This team tracks the changes in law, updates leadership and helps in projects that implements the new law. Aside to this the team works very closely with businesses to carry out internal employee transitions, and contributes in due diligence & other employee facing actions in acquisitions. Social security related actions & compliances is another key focus of this legal group.
Role Description:
- This role is broad and could involve providing advice on various facets of legal and compliance areas concerning employment law, while working with other senior members of the team.
Focus for the current position is as follows:
- Working in IT & ITES organization as an employment law counsel or compliance attorney. (Legal person only, no HR professionals)- working or having worked in organizations with multiple state presence Handling or supporting employment law/legal departments on employment law related compliances immigration matters including Visa (inbound and out bound) litigation matters arising out of employment law issues labour compliance issues in different states (including shops & establishment acts & contract labour legislation).
- Advising on payroll compliances with emphasis on PF, ESIC and minimum wages, leave administration attrition issues and advising HR on termination matters SEZ and STPI compliances
- Regular/periodic gap analysis on new and updated controls and best practices in the industry. Monitor existing processes and identify opportunities to create processes as part of best practices to ensure standardization. Expected to add to the knowledge base, contribute legal insights, perform independent legal research on emerging legislative changes, analyze impact of proposed legislative changes on client's business in India and redefine processes in response to legal dynamics. Prepare executive summaries, position papers, support employee transition strategies, legal updates on emerging legal trends affecting business and internal processes for India and Global leadership

Job Qualifications:
- Education, soft skills, experience & other requirements.
- Required- LLB
- 7 to 8 years' relevant work experience in law firms or in-house; combination of law firm and working as in-house in IT/ITeS industry is ideal.
- Knowledge of program management desirable.
- Good command over written and spoken English.
- Preferably from Delhi & NCR or willing to locate to Gurugram.
