The Role:
- The Assistant Manager - Demo Farm & Composting plays a pivotal role in overseeing our demonstration farm and composting operations.
- You will be responsible for the entire farm production cycle, ensuring optimal yield and efficient resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
Demo Farm Management:
- Oversee all aspects of demo farm production, from planting and maintenance to harvest.
- Develop and implement effective manpower plans for daily farm activities.
- Forecast production levels to ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Maintain a visually appealing and well-organized demo farm environment.
- Implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in both the demo farm and composting unit, adhering to all compliance regulations.
Composting Operations:
- Develop and execute yearly, monthly, and weekly composting plans.
- Manage the collection of raw materials for composting, delegating tasks to farm laborers.
- Maintain meticulous traceability records for composting operations in logbooks and spreadsheets.
- Ensure optimal asset utilization and upkeep within the composting area.
- Record compost distribution, bill of materials (BOM), and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP).
Inventory Management:
- Manage the inventory of all farm assets, including tools, equipment, materials, raw materials for composting, and additives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Agriculture preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in farm operations and management.
- Strong communication skills in English, Hindi, and the local language.
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly MS Office.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with agricultural marketing and production.
- Gap analysis skills for identifying and addressing operational inefficiencies.
- Experience with organic and sustainable farming practices.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage farm labor.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
