Description - This role will for modelling of the data components in Unilever data lake and will work very closely with the Data SMEs and Business Analyst to design sustainable products.

Unilever data lake is growing at a rapid pace and currently it is the 3rd Largest data Lake in the world. This growing data need calls for an effective management of "Metadata".

Data & Analytics is a team of enthusiastic and bright people who enable quicker & smarter business decisions while ensuring a delightful user experience across the enterprise. Placed Centrally, D&A Champions have access to a pool of talented data experts spread across six continents and work with our partners, functions, categories, and geographies to harmonise decision-making and deliver technology solutions to drive business insight.

The D&A Data Engineering and Architecture team is the engine behind the ambition of making Data Engineering and Architecture knowledge a common practice. This team is responsible for ensuring Unilever Data Lake is modelled as per industry best standards. The services from this team are consumed by the Data SMEs, Product teams, various data factories for products rollout and the Data Governance team.

We are looking at enthusiastic and bright candidates to become a part of this team and work closely with our partners and stakeholders to deliver superior analytical capabilities.

Description:

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- Working with various Data SMEs, to understand the data and the functionality required to design an effective / sustainable data modelling solution

- Help the senior Data Modeller to create training contents for SMEs on Data Modelling concepts

- Oversee and govern the expansion of existing data architecture and the optimisation of data query performance via best practices


- Ability to positively influence the data SMEs / stakeholders towards a right data design

- Lead creation of design patterns for effective Data modelling across functions

- Responsible for creation of Logical/Conceptual/Physical Data Model

- Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, lead build of data flows

- Define and govern data modelling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models

- Hands-on modelling, design, configuration, installation, performance tuning, and sandbox POC

- Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks

Profile :

REQUIREMENTS:

- Development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models, the implementation of RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes on target platforms (SQL/NoSQL)

- Develop execution plan to enable future fit skills by training on Data Modelling principles


- Develop a very good understanding of Unilever Data & Analytics Strategy and ensure alignment of team's priorities to the strategy

- Augment agility of defining Data Modelling for use cases

- Work closely with the D&A Markets, functions, Business teams, Geo IT and any spoke teams when it comes to Data Modelling requirements

- Build and manage relationship with stakeholders within D&A and Business


- Ensure adherence to SLA and drive user satisfaction

- Improved ways of working between engagement, tracking

- Simplification and Standardization

- Design thinking and Agile Scrum Approach

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Essential:

- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in modelling Business Intelligence/Data & Analytics Solution

- Fully Operational in Data Modelling


- Experience in working with senior stakeholders / Business leads


- Experience in modelling both, structured as well non-structured data

Education:

Ideal candidates would preferably have an Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

- Excellent communication, active listening and presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organisation

- Passion for delivering service excellence; and developing a culture of "easy to do business with", where customer's needs are anticipated


- Highly analytical mind-set with strong ability to identify, troubleshoot, problem solve and resolve issues. Passion for simplification and continuous improvement

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with team members to understand and develop technology solutions for business needs

- Organised, strong time management skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks to meet established deadlines

- Ability to work quickly and accurately, especially under pressure; and within a cross-culture and global environment

- Ability to work with a broad, virtual team

- Analytically minded with good numerical ability and logical reasoning
