Assistant Manager - Data Architecture - BFSI

Role Description :

Ability to design and develop software solutions to problems in the Insurance industry ranging from processing large volumes of data, algorithms and approaches for developing insightful analysis

Responsibilities:

- Designing data model (UML Class diagram) for enterprise level projects, SQL tuning, explaining them to development/ testing team, Logical and physical data modelling and database design reviews, SQL and DB programming reviews

- Leading large data warehouse, BI, Big Data or Data Architecture projects

- Understand and apply financial concepts to technology solutions for business problems

- Work with different functional groups to get a better understanding of the challenges involved and devise optimized solutions

- Act as a mentor for entire product engineering team in designing & implementing technical solutions

- Work in a fast-paced agile development environment, innovation, solution driven approach towards work

- Execute & perform detailed analysis of technology problems and technical environments and use it in designing solutions

- Interaction with Customer with reference to report requirement understanding, information gathering and issue and day to day calls

- Identify data architecture components for reuse

- Work across IT and Business Units to ensure a consistent approach to data

- Work closely with the stakeholders to identify data opportunities and to drive efficiencies

- Support solution development by ensuring appropriate principles, and standards are followed

Requirements :

- 7-9 years investment banking experience gained through trading, product control and finance or market and credit risk perspectives

- 5+ years of experience in a data architecture role

- Experience in people management

- Excellent & demonstrable data design skills, ideally with experience of using Power Designer

- Understanding of enterprise information & familiarity with the standard for Data Dictionaries ISO/IEC 11179

- Data Analysis skills & DDD(Domain Driven Design) experience

- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for both Agile & Waterfall projects

- Understanding of Capital Markets & Investment Banking, particularly analytical results data

- Ability to manage changing requirements in a highly dynamic environment

- Demonstrable ability and confidence to build relationships with technology and business colleagues at all levels

- Appreciation & understanding of technological advancements & regulatory requirements in the financial industry and beyond which may impact & contribute to the new data model e.g. BCBS239 - Effective Risk Data

- Strong verbal, written & presentation communication skills

- Deep technical aptitude & knowledge of various technology platforms

- Broad understanding across technologies & other architecture domains.
