About:
- This role is specific to the Sector Support team within DA&S, catering to ESG and Consumer & retail (C&R) Sector.
- The team works across the service lines and supports the onshore stakeholders on various strategic assignments, including but not restricted to strategy formulation, business transformation, performance improvement, portfolio Optimization/Expansion, Market Entry, ESG due diligence, PE portfolio review.
- We are recruiting for an Assistant Manager in the Deal Advisory & Strategy team.
- You will be working as part of the ESG/Consumer & Retail Sector for executing projects on behalf of international teams and clients (onshore teams).
Key areas catered through this team includes:
- Strategy creation and development
- Consumer Behavior Change models and impact
- Impact assessments and supply/value chain analysis
- ESG strategy/transformation, due Diligence, rating analysis
- Regulation/Risk assessments
- Industry assessments
- Peers benchmarking
- Operational benchmarking
- Thought leadership and Point-of-view documents
- Business development activities and sector projects including support on pitches
The key responsibilities would include:
- Working as an independent contributor or as part of a larger sector team to support day-to-day delivery of ESG/C&R engagements and associated activities
- Work on operational strategy, business plan reviews and EBITDA improvement/ value creation projects
- Driving the design of projects e.g. financial review, operations plan review, identifying value creation opportunities, etc
- Being responsible for the quality of deliverables produced, including qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Supporting ESG/C&R Sector AD or onshore teams in business development initiatives, including bid proposal and management
- Contributing to thought leadership and developing market intelligence to support ESG/C&R practice development
- Contributing to reports and management presentations by taking complex concepts and articulating these in a format that can be presented back to the clients
- Leveraging analytical skills in combination to the functional knowledge to deliver "So what analysis" on deliverables
- Any other duties commensurate with the role
Job Requirements:
Mandatory Skills:
- MBA / Master's degree from an accredited college/university
- 4+ years of experience strategy/consulting profile, working on business/operational strategy projects, due diligence, scenario analysis, risk and impact assessments, value creation etc.
- Strong understanding of ESG Ratings and its importance/impact on companies
- Good understanding of current and emerging ESG related regulatory requirements such as climate risk management, human rights due diligence, etc.)
- Working knowledge of best practice sustainability standards and frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, WEF, SDG, IFC PS, IIRC, etc., and their components specifically materiality and its assessment)
- Sound knowledge of key financial operational KPIs
- Strong numerical, analytical and strategic thinking skills - able to demonstrate how one supports the other - and sound commercial acumen
- Ability to assess technical information to distil the key strategic insights and convey these succinctly, clearly and confidently orally and in written form
- Expertise in MS Office - especially Excel, Power Point and Word
- Familiarity with third party databases like Refinitiv, S&P, MSCI, Euromonitor, Statista, ThomsonOne etc.

- Prior experience or inclination towards C&R topics would be an advantage Experience in analytics (Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, Advanced excel modelling) will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of Social Sentiment tools and other brand/marketing related analysis would be an advantage
