Title: Manager/Assistant Manager- Commercial

Summary:
This senior-level role plays a crucial part in optimizing the company's overall spending across all categories, including freight payments, capital expenditures (CAPEX), and operational expenses (OPEX). The position requires a strong focus on cost control and continuous improvement through strategic negotiations, procurement support, and financial controllership.
Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
- Implement and oversee strategies to minimize costs across freight, CAPEX, and OPEX.
- Conduct in-depth cost analyses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost control.
Negotiations:
- Lead negotiations with vendors to secure the best possible pricing and terms for goods and services.
- Develop and implement negotiation strategies to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with vendors to foster mutually beneficial partnerships.
Procurement Support:
- Oversee the procurement process to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies.
- Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers.
- Identify and implement new and innovative procurement solutions.
Financial Controllership:
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records for assigned cost and profit centers.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and forecasts.
- Support the development and implementation of financial budgets.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable processes.
- Conduct vendor due diligence and risk assessments.
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in commercial operations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Qualified or semi-qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
- Masters or Graduation in Business Administration, Finance, or related field with relevant work experience considered.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a commercial operations role with a focus on cost control and negotiation.
- Prior experience in managing cost and profit centres.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Desired:
- Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
- CA/Inter CA looking to transition from traditional work to a controllership role.
