Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
- Manage a portfolio of engagements, by leading a team of seniors and associates.
- Ensure the team delivers timely and high quality work, as per company's and in line with the team expectations.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of GAM while performing reviews of audit procedures along with knowledge of company tools to make audits more efficient and meaningful.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with key company's Global counterparts like Assurance executives based out of Americas or Europe.
- Develop an understanding of company's Quality and Risk Management procedures, and ensure these are embedded in to the engagement team's work.
- Proactively discuss work flow management with the audit teams, allocating resources to the assigned work and monitoring performance against standards. Monitor utilization for one's team, budget to actuals, and other operational matters.
- Demonstrate professionalism, competence and clarity of communication when dealing with company's and Global company's audit teams.
- Establish expectations of value to be delivered to the respective company's team aligned.
- Identify opportunities to improve the scope of work for company
- Standardize audit processes along with leveraging best practices across one's aligned engagements or beyond.
- Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team.
- Motivate and lead one's company's team members, identify and foster key talents, coach, mentor and supervise team members
- Assist Managers on various operational matters required on one's team.
- Contribute to delivering some of the technical and soft-skills training and assist in recruitment of seniors and staffs.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and provide performance feedback/training. Lead by example.
- Use technology & tools to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.
- Contribute to technical and soft-skills training to continually develop the team's skills.
Competencies / Skills :
- Expert knowledge of Indian accounting and auditing standards or knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP/US GAAP and International auditing standards is an added advantage
- Excellent communication skills
- Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation skills
- Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling and supervisory skills
- Ability to spread positive work culture, teaming and live company's values
Job Specification :
Education :
- Qualified Accountant (ICAI, CPA, ACCA)
Experience :
- Internship with other big four or mid-tier accounting firm
- 3-4 years post-qualification experience with either
- Mid-or top-tier accounting firm, focused on external or statutory audits.
- MNC or larger domestic Indian companies, preferably within a Shared Service Environment.
