Accountabilities and responsibilities:
Following are the verticals that a SME would be responsible for:
- Change & Release Management
- Planning and managing change & release within the landscape
- Technical Landscape Planning - Managing technical Landscapes
- Keeping Environment Current (KEC) - Execution of KEC strategies
- Security and Compliance - Keeping Landscape secure
- Performance Monitoring - Ensuring Optimal Performance
- Build Talent and Teams - Invest in building talent
Release Management :
- Responsible for managing & planning the change demand
- Driving the demand funnel meetings
- Conducting the release gates & verifying the release deliverables
- Ensuring compliance to SOX controls, pro-actively assessing & managing the risks
- Co-ordinate bug fixes, test executions (including regression testing)
- Cutover Planning & Management
- Co-ordinate post go-live checks
Technical Landscape Planning :
- Co-ordinate and manage the environment build/ planning /evolution/interface connectivity (system refreshes, transport paths)
- Defining/managing the transport strategy
- Responsible for technical control of the changes
Keeping the environment current (KEC) :
- Responsible for planning the upgrades
- Responsible for assessing the impact of the upgrade/recommend
- Driving the execution with various teams (Basis, Application Maintenance, Application Development, Service Delivery etc).
Security & Compliance :
- Coordination of security baseline standards implementation, reporting compliance & driving actions.
- Ensuring user/role management, critical access controls
Performance Monitoring :
- Pro-active identification & assessment of performance bottlenecks on the system
- Trouble shooting and driving remediation with various stakeholders
- Publish performance KPIs, identify the controls for proactive monitoring (alerts) & leverage solution manager capabilities
Vendor Management :
- Participate in functional and technical design reviews (QA process) with strategic IT suppliers and/or other 3rd parties when/where appropriate
- Hold vendors accountable for quality and timeliness of deliveries through governance mechanisms
- Ensure adequate knowledge sharing and retention through documentation
Build Talent and Teams :
- Help build and retain level 1 SME capability
Process and Technology knowledge required:
Landscape Specific Skills:
- Hands on knowledge in managing Enterprise Applications like SAP, Oracle etc
Main Associated Technologies / Applications (current view):
- Technical Consultant ERP, Downtime Assessment, Data Volume Management for ERP systems, ERP Performance Analysis/Tuning, Workload Monitoring, ERP Optimization and Analysis
- ITIL V3 Foundation Certified
