Assistant General Manager/Deputy General Manager - Purchase - Manufacturing

We are currently looking for an AGM/DGM-Purchase for one of the top Engineering cos in India. The position is to be based at Hyderabad.

- Our client is one of the top Engineering cos in India and are the largest and most reputed manufacturer of Electrical Steel Laminations, Motor Cores, Sub-Assemblies, Die-Cast Rotors and Press Tools. They have diversified into manufacturing of Castings, Steel Fabricated Parts and machined components stator and rotor assemblies with plans of diversifying into forgings.

Job Profile:

- Responsible to prepare the BOM concerning with planning department based on the priority of the production

- Responsible for vendor identification, vendor qualification concerning with Quality department through the internal documentation process

- Responsible for developing new vendor base while maintaining the existing vendors for better analysis in view of price and delivery of the material

- Responsible for negotiations for best possible, prepare rate contracts and develop win-win strategies to achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers

- Responsible for processing and approving the Purchase indents/orders received from cross-functional departments

- Maintain and develop supplier relationships (trade shows, supplier meetings, conferences, etc.)

- Responsible for inbound delivery of the items, materials, components etc.. on time

- Analyze market and delivery mechanism/system in order to assess present and future material availability

- Direct & Coordinate activities of the team engaged in buying materials, equipment, machinery, and materials

- Identify cost improvement areas and suggest the management on cost-effective plans

- Coordination with departments like Excise, Planning, Production, Accounts etc. for smooth functioning

- Implement processes to reduce lead time, Assist in setting frameworks for implementing guidelines on contract development

- Direct and guide team on departmental issues, Identify, groom, reward and develop the team.

Qualification, Experience & Key skills

- Diploma/B.E/B.Tech Mechanical with Engineering industry background with Minimum 10 to 15 yrs experience

- Knowledge and work experience of SAP MM module

- Should have good knowledge of analyzing the market conditions

- Excellent Negotiation skills

- Knowledge of tax laws (GST)
