Job Title: Financial Controller
Designation - AGM/DGM
Location: Mumbai
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Role Overview:
- The Financial Controller will oversee all financial aspects of the company strategy and is responsible for the flow of financial information to the CEO, the board, and, where necessary, external parties such as investors or financial institutions. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of financial control, strategic planning, audit processes, compliance, and financial improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Control and Audit:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Manage external audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
Strategic Planning and Financial Modelling:
- Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and decision-making processes.
- Participate in the strategic planning process, offering financial insights and projections.
- Design and implement robust financial planning processes.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Lead projects aimed at improving financial processes and systems.
Compliance and Government Principles:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and government principles.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting the NBFC sector.
Financial Statements and Internal Audit:
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks to the organization.
- Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks and ensure the company's financial stability.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Oversee the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Prepare accurate financial forecasts to inform business planning.
Stakeholder Management:
- Provide financial reports and information to the board of directors, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Serve as a key point of contact for financial matters within the organization.
Qualifications:
- CA/MBA in Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in financial management roles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Deep understanding of audit processes, financial modelling, strategic planning, compliance, government regulations, financial statements, and internal audits.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the MSME/SME sector with a focus on unsecured business loans.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving financial performance.
